The parent company of Duke's Mayo was recently bought out by a private equity firm. I'm sure everything is fine and product quality won't suffer at all and this is one of the "good" PE firms. Right?

I read that the other day.
Changing the recipe would be a fairly large failure on their part. Dukes ranks in the top couple of mayo brands. A change would cost them the entire South just out of spite.
That's saying something because Hellmann's isn't very good.
They came for our sportsball teams, but I don't care about the Celtics so whatever. Now it's our condiments.. I guess there's nothing sacred.
For the Chicago south siderz this meant something else. They've since closed and reopened inside a mega gas station.

I found Duke's to be a reasonable alternative to Hellman's, but not better.
Anything is preferable to Kraft or (Bob forbid) Miracle Whip.

Don't expect any actual sale prices at JoAnn's.
In reply to Duke :
That reads about right. It's a Mason-Dixon Line thing.
Duke's is how the South does mayo. Hellmann's is how the North does it. I prefer the tang of Duke's. Probably because my mother grew up in Pickens, SC about 20 miles from where Duke's originated.
My father prefers Miracle Whip. I try not to hold it against him, but it's hard sometimes.
It's my fault. I recently discovered Dukes and switched from Helmans. Whenever I like something, it is discontinued; the Fiesta ST, Deadwood, Picture-In-Picture TVs, new Coke...the list goes on and on.

This is me with phones. Of all the phones I've ever owned, only the big two manufacturers (Nokia and Motorola) are still around. Even Nokia got wrecked by Steve Elop (an underappreciated candidate for history's worst CEO) who specifically put an end to the phones I liked, if they hadn't I might be using a Nokia phone running GNU/Linux right now.

I right there with you Tom. The "tangy zip" adds some mayo misses. Of course I only use it for tuna fish sandwiches.

Maybe so, but much like biscuits and gravy, it's easy to find out here, too. At least for now.
Not that we're the mayonnaise connoisseurs that some of you are, but having recently discovered it, we like it better than Best Foods (Hellmann's east of the Rockies, per the label) and will probably have to rat-hole a few jars for the proverbial rapture.
I never thought I'd see the day that the phrase "mayonnaise jar savings and loan" could be used so literally. The end times are near.
Duke .. a Duke. I don't even own a Duke, let alone many Dukes that would necessitate stocking up. What am I gonna do with a Duke?"

Can you do me a favor and like huge SUVs with no useful interior room? Or touchscreens for everything?
There must be a way to harness your power for Good.

That's what I do. Its not hard once you get the hang of it and you can make it to your liking. And with better quality ingredients without all the weird stuff I cant pronounce. I recommend it!

The good PE firms buy broken companies - often destroyed by other PE firms - and build them back up. Unfortunately, they usually sell to one of the bad PE firms and the cycle continues.
Since Dukes is good now, it's one of the bad firms buying it. See what's happened with Portillo's.
