I live in an unremarkable suburban town of 10,000 or so. There's nothing out of the ordinary about it.
My house is literally 2 minutes away from a small family butcher shop that has been in business almost 60 years.
I can be buying a halal haunch of goat in under 15 minutes, if I want one. Less than 15 minutes the other direction is a third small family-run store (in business since the '50s) with a big butcher counter where I can buy cut-to-order meats 7 days a week.
Within 30 minutes there are no fewer than 3 other dedicated butcher shops that I know of. And that's without even setting foot in a higher end grocery like Fresh Market or Whole Foods, that usually have pretty good fresh meat selections as well.

The words Good Food and UK don't belong together.
All that trouble to monopolize the spices and they never used any of them.
