It wasn't intentional. I just picked the last 5 years as a "recent" timeframe. And to show that generally the price of gasoline and the price of oil are related.

Wasn't accusing you. I just know that somebody, somewhere, selected that particular time frame to make a point. Even the one I selected alters the $ scale when it gets to $100. I don't like charts that don't start from zero...

I'm not sure I see anything nefarious in Volvo's chart.
5 years is a standard time frame for tracking prices. As are Day, Week, Month, Year, 10 Year, and Lifetime.
I was looking for some disposable shop gloves, and saw these at Wal-Mart online. One photo in particular caught my attention...
