What about John Cougar Mellencamp? He has some snappy tunes you can dance to.

His flaming plane can take Brian Adams and all the Eagles with him. Joe Walsh gets a chute, though.

Listen to his more recent stuff, if you haven't. Some really good stuff coming out of Southern Indiana.

I can take John or leave him. I saw his band live 20 or so years ago, and was surprised at what a tight band they were. Very talented musicians, especially the girl playing fiddle.

Joe Walsh in the Eagles: Making crappy music sound good since 1976.

I went to LL Bean today to pick up a couple more River Driver shirts. I have a bunch already. They are my favorite winter shirts. I grabbed two off the rack in colors that I did not own yet. One is green and the other is off white. When I was cutting the tags off at home, I noticed that the off-white color is called Bone Heather. I know two girls named Heather. While this is not necessarily my favorite color, it is now my favorite name for a color. The green one is called Loden.

Is the green one actually called Loden Yurpanz?

Despite my generally being very careful and aware when riding, I almost got myself hit riding in to work this morning. I should know from driving to a) not completely trust that I can see everything in the mirror and turn and look over my shoulder and b) to signal (even if many people these days likely have no idea what hand signals mean...), but relied on my mirror that there wasn't anything coming up in the lane I needed to get over into and didn't signal because I didn't think there were any cars there. Driver was thankfully paying attention and slowed down and blared their horn at me and then pulled alongside to yell at me. If they had hit me, it would undoubtedly have been my fault. I think she pulled out from a side street and that was why I hadn't been tracking her car coming down the hill behind me, but doesn't change that I was the one at fault. Thankfully only my pride and presumably the driver's mood were damaged, but I need to be even more aware especially when my cold-weather gear restricts my vision a bit like it does.

Part of the reason I built the Grosh was so I'd have a place to get something done when the weather sucks. Well, the weather sucks and I dont want to walk out there.

Had a nail in the RR of the new wagon, not even 3K miles on it yet. I'm not a fan of these LRR ContiProcontacts, but it was repairable so I had it fixed, the thought of 4 new tires crossed my mind, but I thought better of it.

The TPMS light wouldn't go off, wasn't blinking, pressure was correct, no amount of driving seemed to turn it off. I put 35 miles on the repair between the tire shop and home, light was still on.

I usually figure stuff out on my own, but I must confess to actually reading my owners' manual, gasp! Who reads the owners' manual? Low-and-behold... there's a little button hidden away in the glove box to push and reset the TPMS light. Thanks owners' manual!

I didn't watch the Superbowl, we decided to go grocery shopping instead. Kroger was great, short check out lines, hardly anyone else to dodge in the isles, and only one person in front of us at the deli. We got take-out on our way home, and ate it while we watched season 5 of Justified.

I know a guy that got real into race cars, so he built a big garage for his cars, complete with lift and then he built an enclosed , covered hallway up off the ground like a porch connecting the house and garage so he doesn't have to worry about rain or snow. Genius I say

Also my work transit van is getting the wheel bearing fixed, so I goto drive around a rwd Silverado extra truck in the snow today. It was my first time driving rwd in snow, it was so much fun kicking the ass end out on the unplowed roads and parking lots. I am hooked

I don't get Frank Zappa. And it bothers me because some of my friends really liked him. I could never figure it out. Don't hate him either. Kind of apathetic. I guess.

Zappa is not for everyone. People who try to cram him down your throat are just as bad as one who refuses to listen just once.

I hate Sheryl Crow.

I've found that outside of your generally crappy music, like most country that is on the radio, I don't actually hate any music anymore.

Even John Denver, my all-time least favorite artist (that I still consider an artist), I can find some stuff that I like.

I'm not a huge Sheryl Crow fan either, but I saw her open for John Hiatt one night in New Haven before anyone had ever heard of her. I remember seeing her selling her own cassette singles in the hallway on the way to the bathrooms and thought that she was okay but probably too old to have any success in the music business.
