Amazon is the same way with movies. You have to search to get beyond the same 23 movies they 'recommend' for you in 7 different genres.

It's actually 'One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer'. The original was by a guy named Amos Milburn, but Lonesome George actually covers John Lee Hooker's version of it.
DarkMonohue said:Holy hell. No. Just no. Not again, please. I was sick for almost three weeks from Thanksgiving forward, then again for a week solid over what short little Christmas break I took. And now we're heading into a three-day weekend with my nose packing up like it's going on a trip, my throat hurting like a son of a gun, and my lymph nodes swelling up like ripe grapefruit.
I take my vitamins. I wash my hands. I drink tons of water. I don't sing in groups or lick doorknobs or eat off the floor. I pay my taxes and I'm kind to animals. Why in the name of your god or mine is this happening to me?
I read something rather astonishing, once, that I keep in mind.
People DON'T get what they deserve, they get what they get. Why else does it explain completely vile people with wonderful lives and wonderful people getting horrible diseases that cull them before they can even grow up? What did they do to "deserve" any of that?
fasted58 said:Went to the beer store for weekend beer. Two young-20ish guys were yukking it up over a song on the stores audio system. They didn't know what it was.
You know what this is they asked.
George Thorogood, One Bourbon, One Shot, One Beer I replied.
They rolled their eyes as if amazed.
And at that moment I felt old.
I ain't seen my baby since a nigh on a week
oh I wanna get drunk so I can't even speak...
My blower motor on my 97 k1500 has been bitchy for awhile, I bought the part and stashed it in my truck for a bit and now it's even more bitchy that a small tap is needed often for it to work.
Apparently I bought a single terminal motor when I need a dual terminal one. Anyone know the part number?

You're not wrong, certainly, but in trying to explain the inexplicable, one sometimes becomes desperate enough to look inward, outward, skyward, and eventually under any given philosophical flat rock, ranting like a madman with an apparently permanent head cold.
It's still here. And it's mocking me.
My gym plays an awful playlist of edm remixes of Top 40 pop hits so loud that I can hear it clearly over my noise canceling headphones

In reply to Duke :
Yeah I think I've finally convinced my girlfriend that we should switch to the more hardcore gym near us, it's always got decent music and has better equipment, anyway
In reply to gixxeropa :
Are there any rock climbing gyms near you? It may seem weird, but most of them have a general fitness center with a good variety of weight and cardio equipment. They frequently have a discounted membership for people who just want to use that. They usually have yoga classes too.
Because they're climbing gyms, most people don't think of them for that. So you don't get showoffs, meat heads, or lazy people who think that just being inside a gym will get them in shape.
Music selection is going to be better, too.

That kind of describes my day at work.
My washing machine is not getting all the way through a spin cycle again. It was working fine with the new belt for a while, so I have not idea if the new belt was a counterfeit (I bought brand name, but through the river website). Of course , there could be a different issue that is causing damage to the belt, too. I'm really hoping we can get this thing to survive through the spring. Emptying out the garage to move another one into place would not be fun.
In reply to gixxeropa :
I'm pretty sure the gym we go to plays music based on who they expect to be there. When we go, mid-day during the week, it's 70-s-90's rock with the odd unexpected thing thrown in, like the Danzig I heard last week. The music between 4-7pm is completely different, and more likely to be hip hop
I'm tired of enforced vacation, can I go back to being productive now?
I hate not doing anything. Right now I can't do anything. Parts I need are in shipping limbo, parts stores are closed, I've fixed everything as far as I can fix it without getting more stuff.
I have fence to build but I can't wrestle the auger myself and I can't ask the neighbors to come over because that would be rude to make them work on a holiday. The ground is too frozen for a post pounder but not too frozen for an auger. I don't have an auger for my tractor and I can't buy one because everyone is closed.
I don't do nothing well and having to do it is driving me crazy.
I have been relentlessly hammered with E36 M3 to do for the last month or 6 weeks. It doesn't show any sign of letting up even a little in the next month or 6 weeks.
The only good things are that health is decent and none of the cars needs work (knocking on wood).
In reply to Duke :
That was me a month and a half ago. I was stretched so thin, I wasn't sleeping well, it was wearing me down. Things are finally settling, but not over. Hopefully I'll start sleeping well again soon. I really need my sleep

Well.. serves me right for complaining.
Got called out to put out a house fire shortly after posting that.
Be careful what you wish for, you may get it.

Does this count as a rant? PM me, we should talk.
Christmas vacation days were filled with sick kids. New Years vacation days filled with sick wife. I got a few hours on the truck yesterday, which was amazing. Then, of course, I couldn't sleep. Lights out at 11:15 with the alarm set for 5:15. Up at 1. Up at 1:30. Up at 2. Up aT 2:30. Up at 3:15. Up at 4, finally gave up, went to church and build some bookcases then went in to work 45 minutes early after that.

No, thank you, I'm perfectly happy this way. I do appreciate the offer, however.
I'm sorry your kids and wife were sick, especially over family holidays.
Hanging things over every doorknob in the house may be convenient for hanging things, but it's sure not convenient for, you know, opening doors and going through them.
Plus it looks like crap.
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
Isn't it grand that life is unfair? If life was immutably fair, every time a tragedy struck you'd be forced to say "Man, I deserved this"

We'll, I'll only add that Christianity does not in any stipulate that one gets what one deserves. I hope someday we can talk about this stuff.
You'll need to log in to post.
