Does it have a T&P / relief valve on it?  They can sometimes fail over time and dribble.

It does, but sadly that wasn't the problem, found the leak though so I got my wish to know exactly where it was lol

Word of advice to everyone. If you have a personal issue, need time off, need time to get your mental processes straight, or take care of a family member with a medical issue, talk to your employer. Not all of us are uncaring shiny happy people. We actually want you at 100% when you are at work instead of 25%. If you are a team member and a decent employee, many employers are more than willing to help you help yourself and your family when needed. While we may not be super happy about it and it may leave us in a lurch, it's better than having to find and train a new employee. I would much rather someone use up all their PTO getting their head straight than have them quit only for both of us to regret it.

Quoted for truth, and reinforcement. I manage a few IT specialists these days, and I'd much rather work with an employee who needs to take time off for personal reasons than the alternative. We all have times in our lives where E36 M3 hits the fan and everyone at some point needs both the support and the space to deal with it. In fact, you might be surprised what a good employer might be willing to make available in these kinds of situations.

Got lots of rants built up right now, but most of them are bigger than minor, so this is today's.  My phone has been acting up for a few weeks now, where it will suddenly "drain" the battery rapidly.  I need it for work, so I've been trying to recharge it as quickly as possible.  Turns out one of the first things you are supposed to do when the battery percentage seems to be off, is to let it drain to the point it shuts off, then charge it fully.  Supposedly, that will let it get a better idea of the real battery health, and resync it.  It has now been sitting at 1% for over 12 hours.  I used it to get logged in this morning, and am hoping I don't need it too much today, because I really want to see if this fixes it.

I'd been planning on replacing it, but was hoping to wait til September, when it hit 6 years old.  Still, I guess getting over 5 years from a smartphone is a pretty good record.

The drafting department here is pretty good. They waste a lot of time, though. The manager and one of the employees spend an hour every day talking in his office. Usually it's about comic books or comic book related movies or video games. Today it's about politics. I am thankful to have a door.

It's frustrating to ask the manager something for him to tell me that they are too busy. If only I knew more about Captain America or whatever he'd have plenty of time.

This drives me crazy. Why are we having a meeting to restate everything that was in the emails to start with? I have more important things to do with my time.

I was in a similar situation a while back so I'd spend a few minutes each morning grabbing a few sportsball highlights and brushing up on golf terms.  I was also able to ingratiate myself to the manager of another group with whom I needed to work by asking him to explain how golf worked and how he picked which club he used and stuff like that.  He'd prattle on about it while I'd think about other stuff and after a few weeks he and I were buds.  I managed to retain just enough of what he said for just long enough to make him think that I was really interested.

Yep, SC is experiencing the same. Wind gusts into the 60s are expected by this afternoon bringing down trees and power lines.

I just called all my people and told them to be back at the shop by noon to one o'clock. We will call it a day and get everyone home before things get too dangerous.

But I don't want any of that. (I feel like that guy in Monty Python: The Holy Grail), I just want to work. At work. I get along well enough with both men, but I not only couldn't care less about comic books and comic book movies and video games (and perhaps wonder how they get all that time), but I want them to work at work, some of the time on my stuff I've asked for.

Yup, it all pays the same.

But if I can squeeze in a nap that pays the same as Storytime Coordinator, I would much prefer the nap.

When I have my Wrangler out I never lock it, simply because I'd rather have someone open the door to find that there's nothing in there than have them cut open the soft top to find the same.

That is my general approach with the convertibles- if I'm out driving them I don't bother putting the top back up when I park unless there's a concern of it raining (which is unlikely since the E46's top doesn't always seal the best), and if they're parked someplace with the top up they're usually unlocked. The RX-7 had a fuel pump cut switch (both for security and for helping with starting if it flooded) and for a good while a removable steering wheel, and I trust the E46's anti-theft to keep it from being stolen. I'd rather not lose its CarPlay head unit, but replacing it would be far easier and cheaper than replacing the top.

In reply to z31maniac :

The ideal setup is obviously a 2-4 car garage in the back and a 2-3 car attached garage in the front, but space and money make that a pipe dream for me at the moment.

This is my setup. Traditional 2 car attached to the house with an oversized 2 car behind the house.

The only problem is the amount of crap you have always exceeds the amount of space you have. With 4+ bays you can collect a lot of crap.

I only have room for 2 cars inside. Everything else sits on the driveway or behind the shop.

My 2024 project is to get the Bentley out of my shop and into the front garage as well as get the Abomination out of the front garage and get Touareg in there instead.

Agree that this is my ideal setup.

I feel like I need a "fake garage" that my wife and kids can absolutely trash with amazon boxes, bikes, gardening supplies, decorations, sports equipment, snow sleds, shoes, extra food, etc.  Then, I need a garage to myself.  But I can already hear my wife saying "we'll just put this in your garage" when she brings home a furniture project.

When The Dancer and I bought the current house, it was pretty much assumed that the garage was 'mine'. She hadn't had a place with a garage to park in since leaving home, and I've not parked a DD in a garage since I've owned more than one car so it was at the time assumed that it was going to be used for projects and general car-related stuff. It's an oversized 2-car garage and had plenty of space for having a vehicle being worked on and work/storage space.

Over the years however, I've slowly but surely lost space in the garage to her stuff- specifically, storing things for her non-profit. At least a 4 sqft corner of it is pretty much completely her stuff with a lot scattered elsewhere where I could tuck it as much of out my way as possible. In the late spring/early summer, I lose essentially all of whatever extra space there is as the garage is used to pack away all of the stuff donated for the non-profit's annual garage sale. This last year this also meant not being able to park the convertible under the 'portable' carport canopy that is in front of the garage because that space was used to sort and stage things for the sale (which did mean it was better organized).

If/when we build a new place to our own specs, I plan for there to be an attached 'parking/storage' garage and a detached workshop garage. And a fairly large separate storage space as well when all of the non-profit's stuff can go.

Rant #1: I've been varying degrees of sick for the last 2 1/2 weeks now, I'd like that to stop soon please. Up until an hour or so before going to bed last night I thought I was doing better than went downhill again. I was really hoping to be able to go to the Y and swim this evening, but between being under the weather and the possibility that it will still be storming then (and they'll close it if anyone hears/sees thunder or lightning) that seems unlikely.

Rant #2: I don't know if it's because of my ADHD meds or something else, but I am having rather annoying issues with temperature while working in my office. The temperature at my desk is usually in the high-60's even with having my space heater only set to 63, and it will get up over 70F if the 3D printer is running (which is as often as possible). This is generally a fairly comfortable range of temperatures- but my hands are almost always cold, and my feet are usually the same. I'll have a hoodie on and be sweating, but my hands and feet will be icicles (and if I'm sweating, I'll have to alternate between having my slippers on and off so my feet don't also sweat- despite still being cold- and get even more cold).

I bought ideal cycling pants without realizing it this fall. Mountain Ridge (seems to be a Giant Tiger in-house brand) cargo zip-offs, with belt loops, low profile zippered pockets on both sides, adjustable elastics at the ankle so you can tighten the right side to keep it out of the chainrings. Could only be better if the rear pockets were removed (because rear pockets are only ever good for losing things, crushing things, and hurting your back). Thought about buying 2 at the time and didn't.

Crotch of those pants got BTFO'd on my first try on a bigger jump line at the indoor bike park tonight. Can't find them for sale or anything with those same features sad
