Sounds like a prosses we have to suffer every 4 years.

A legitimate grievance, surely, though my rant is coming from a different direction. Every blame time I ask Mrs Monohue to come along with me to something, either she doesn't want to or she doesn't feel good, or she says she will and then doesn't want to or doesn't feel good when the day comes around. Not to sound defeatist, but I am defeated. To continue trying would be foolish.
Like 50% or more of the team is out for travel or Covid. I am at hour 47 this week at work already and it is lunch time on Thursday. I need sleep but I am running on coffee and being pissed off.
On the plus side I fixed the smog issue on the power for 70$ instead of the 1200$ I was quoted by finding the a cross reference parts for the leak detection pup and some lines that were made for the 3.5EGG in the 300M

Like the debadged Audi A3 being advertised locally as an S3?
I can't find my wallet. I've looked over the house. I know I checked my pockets to be sure I had everything the last place I left before I got home. So it has to be here *somewhere*, but I can't find it anywhere.
Oh, FFS...
Of course it was in a completely obvious location - on my gaming computer desk, next to the keyboard - obscured by something on top of it. But because it was in one of the first places I looked, I kept skipping over it. Then when I stop looking for 5 minutes and distract myself with some online games, I get up and find it immediately.
Well... I'd already requested the day off for something that got cancelled. So I'm going to use the rest of the day to run errands and practice guitar.
I get protesting. People should have right to voice their opinion of things.
But I also think they should do research on what they are protesting about. As it could be better used in different places. Right now, cruise ships are targeted as the bad players to the environment. Even though they represent just 1% of global shipping. You could eliminate all of them and barely notice a change. The protest is closing this tiny cruise port that is just 36 miles from one of the largest shipping ports on the planet. Which would be a far more appropriate target for realist change if they are so dedicated.
I will certainly ask a protester when they will close that port since it sees multiple massive ships a day vs the 3-4 a week this cruise port gets.

Its about visibility, legitimately.
Read an interview with the folks in charge of "painting" Stonehenge. They had done all sorts of less upsetting protests and actually closed ports and other things. However no one showed up to report on them.
They start spraying orange paint on everything, suddenly they start getting reported on

It would be a massive upset in the system is the shipping port was slowed for a day or two. Way bigger than inconveniencing some cruise ship passengers.
One of my cousins has had some massive health issues over the last few years (heart issues- he would be waiting for a transplant but they won't put him on the list until other issues are resolved since they worry he wouldn't survive the surgery). I just found out from my parents who are in town for the weekend that he was let go from his job (he was a HS theater teacher, and his health issues have meant he just couldn't do the job) at the end of the school year- and that like a day later his wife told him she wanted a divorce and that he could have custody of their 3 kids (2 teenaged girls- who apparently overheard all this- and a pre-teen son) because she didn't want to have to deal with them.
I've never liked his wife- from the first time I met her I've said she's a self-centered bitch who only cares about herself- but it had seemed like through my cousin's health issues she had finally been behaving closer to a decent human being. Looks like that was completely not the case. I can only hope that the stress from all of this doesn't end up killing my cousin... he's an infinitely better human being than his wife could ever be. If there were any justice in this world, she'd have a massive stroke and be a compatible organ donor for my cousin.
Big thunderstorm here this afternoon. Lots of rain and big, booming, rolling thunder, and lightning strikes just seconds ahead of the thunder. And then a simultaneous flash and the loudest thunder I've ever heard followed by darkness.
Great. It smoked the transformer on the pole behind our house. And although the pole is in the neighbor's yard, said yard is apparent not bucket truck friendly, and the utility company is likely going to have to smash their way through our overgrown disaster of a yard to get to the blessed thing. Nobody in the wide wide world of sports knows when or how we'll have power again, and I'm scared to death they'll try to bill us a month's pay for bringing in the Massey Ferguson on a rainy Saturday night to crush a path to the pole that's not even in our yard.
I don't need this. I do not need any of it.
You are worrying about something that does not and will not impact us in any way whatsoever, and is not, never has been, and never will be anything that we have any responsibility for.
And now we are getting in an argument over it because I don't have an opinion on it.
I hurt my wrist and it's in a brace. My plans of guitar playing, shooting, a little painting and some car repair all require a wrist so that's out.
We've been going down to the local brewery and eating some tacos from the taco truck and having a beer or 2 while listening to the music provided. It's just a guy playing acoustic guitar and singing, he's decent but firmly in the middle ot guitar awesomeness. He doesn't make many mistakes, he does a few different genres and it's pleasant.
Every time I show up, I'm the first person to clap when the song is over, so after a song or 2 people all start clapping but the first time I get so weird of looks.
I've been that guy on stage with a dead crowd, FFS clap no matter what when the guy finishes a song just because.

...and four hours later, we have all the light and power we can eat, and the nice linemen will all get to bed on time. Rant redacted for the time being.

That was the situation last week while we were driving. The news came on and when they started talking about one of the current world killing events, I changed the station, and got yelled at because I should be listening, it's an important world event.
In reply to mtn :
Just go with the general blanket opinion "eh berkeley'em, what are they gonna do?".
TIL you can request almost 50% off the listed price it's not a lowball if that's all the money you have.
In reply to EvanB :
I'm not really offended by that. Shoot your shot, man, if that's all you have.
The guys who liwball just to resell at your asking piss me off.
Now, to the add a comment. My friends at the Honda store were given 2 Pacific Coasts, and we're extremely happy when one got written off as a loaner.
Couldn't give them away. Have fashions changed to the point where people can get past the looks to appreciate a pretty good bike?
In reply to alfadriver :
It's often what they can get away with. Because they do most organizing on social media it's not hard for PD to know what they're planning and respond accordingly. There's a good chance they wouldn't get a chance to block the shipping port but will be allowed to disrupt the cruise port for a little while before being moved along.

Welcome to my hell. What you experienced happens to me at least 10 times a day, every day, for decades. I've probably wasted a fifth of my life looking for things.
In reply to EvanB :
I'm seeing it a lot in ads these days, no low balls.
There's a difference between lowballs and low balls. The former doesn't always exclude me, the latter, well...

No other way to say it other than that sucks. If he hasn't found a family law attorney, he really needs one. Spousal support and child support should be first on the list.
