Me too. Still coughing. I'd get woke up several times in the night due to a choking coughing fit.
Was on heavy amoxicillin which seemed to help.

Only a minor rant, but a comment on everyone being sick. My shopping list this morning included thermometer covers. Minor rant is they were out of stock. My observation was that the thermometer section at Meijer was pretty much empty, with only a few really expensive ones left in stock. I don't think I've ever seen it this bad, even in 2020-2021.
Why do cell service providers have to be so difficult about porting your number out? Do you really need to hide my own account info from me? I mean you required 2 factor authentication for me to get into the account and then you're gonna be obtuse and hide or make me request the pieces of information I need to accomplish the feat. 3 MFing hours and a bunch of calls later FU StraightTalk/Verizon!
First world rant. I called you at 8AM on Wednesday and you said you have plenty of stock. I placed my order at 8:10AM. Here it is Saturday morning and I still don't have a tracking number. I thought that E36 M3 would be here today. Are you that backed up or does the "Shop" app suck at giving me updates? It seems to me that the last place I ordered from that used the Shop app also took like 2 weeks to get something to me that should have been 1 day by ground.
People bitch about the river site but they get stuff to me in 1-2 days 95% of the time..
I've always wondered... since the TV commercials that run during the Super Bowl are such a big deal, why do they allow 'sneak previews' of them a week or two before the game? If the whole point is to get people to watch the game you'd think they would keep them under wraps beforehand.
Dang nabit, I'm now three for three in handing my seventeen y/o daughter a $50 when she asks me for some mall money (the only other thing I had on me was a $20 and I know it's 2025).
There isn't a chance in E36 M3 I'll ever see change so it's "gone baby, gone baby, baby it's gone".
One more rant...
While watching the news this morning, the caption bar said something about Super Bowl IXL.
OK, I have nothing but gratitude for the Persians of modern day Iraq that invented zero and enlightened the world to a system vastly superior to Roman Numerals.
Having said that, I thought I understood the Roman Numeral system and I was beating my head thinking "what the berk", it's Super Bowl LIX (50 + 9). All of the sudden, the caption bar refreshed and everything was the same except IXL was replaced with LIX.
I had to learn a ridiculous, arcane system...everyone else does too; fair is fair.
The barely one year old Whirlpool refrigerator started making a horrible sound this afternoon. The freezer side has been leaking water on the floor for a few weeks. I think the drain froze up because it fills the bottom up with water which then leaks out the door seal. Nothing like stepping in a pool of freezing water at 2am.
So I tore into it. Once I got the coil cover off, it was apparent that ice had built up and jammed the circulating fan.
I have no idea why this happened. It's in a weird place for ice to form. But 5 minutes with using a butter knife as a chisel and I got all the ice removed.
Next it was time to find out why there was a bunch of ice in the bottom.
As I suspected, the drain was blocked. Water was not flowing out the drain but filling up the depression under the slide out bin which then leaked out onto the floor. I was able to melt the ice buildup with the GF's hair dryer. There was a heating element looking loop of wire which I assume melts the ice enough to drain out. It doesn't seem very effective though. It's a terrible design.
The appliances came with the house but I'd be pissed if I bought them with my own money. I shouldn't have to deal with this on a 13 month old refrigerator.
Was on a roll selling some Touareg parts. Now have a sale sitting in limbo for 24 hours. Sent him pictures of everything he asked for. He had replied how much and I replied with a price. And we had already had a price on two of the things already. And he's been active on the forum they're on since I posted the price.

I received an email from FedEx stating that I have a package that will be delivered tomorrow. I still haven't received any update from the store I purchased from though. I guess it helps to have an account with UPS and FedEx.
I pulled the Miata back apart yesterday. Sure enough, it was off one tooth on the intake cam. Today the battery was dead again. It is still missing. Now, it's making a lovely grinding sound. Crickey.
Superb Owl food was plentiful. Sushi, chips and guac, chili, wings, ice cream, cheesecake...
I now look like I'm 6 months pregnant.

I make chili every year for the Superb Owl. I had my fill and it was delicious. I told my wife that my stomach was like "OMG Chili!" and my anus was like "OMG!!! Chili!". LOL!

berkeley.
Same and same. Coulda, shoulda, woulda. At this point I simply accept that I will take the kid out on Saturday to give Mrs Monohue a break, and then on Sunday she will need a rest or be overwhelmed or tired or sick and to give her a break I'll go ahead and take care of the kid.
This is not "wasted time" but not a single damn thing is getting done around here.
I'm tired of being told I'm the MVP.

From the advertisers perspective the whole point is to get people to watch the ad not the game.
Somewhat sudden job uncertainty sucks. Mrs. PMRacing's upcoming workplaces changes suck so she'll be job hunting soon, but she works in the education sector. Politics sucks. We're on a spending lockdown so I can't go do anything fun for a break. I'm feeling like I'm going to crack from the stress soon if something doesn't give. Can't sleep, and when I do it's a blink and my alarm goes off. Excuse me while I go scream into the ether.

did you eat anything that tasted like roofies six months ago?
GM, you berkeleying shiny happy people, why have you made it impossible to shift vehicles into neutral if the engine doesn't run? I've got a 2023 Suburban with 25k miles with the typical locked-up 6.2L (hey, congrats, at least you made it past the first oil change!), and the only way to move it if the engine doesn't run, per GM, is to either crawl under it and unbolt the shift cable and install a special tool to actuate the shift lever, or to put dollies under the rear wheels. I can't get under it, because I'm kind of a big dude and the frame on the modern mall-crawler Suburban is so low, plus it's parked in a snow bank. And the dollies don't work, because again, it's in a snow bank and the parking lot is a rutted, rough icy mess.
In reply to NickD :
I hate E36 M3 like that. 2 of the GM cars I maintain for a buddy of mine won't let me unlock the door unless they are in park. We have to park them in such away that I drive in, put it in nutral, and push forward until the bumpers just kiss. What a pain in the a$$.
Exhibit A; Scope creep:
This started out as an idea for a simple cat climbing wall. I saw someone on social media hang a Ikea Lohals rug on their wall so their cats could climb it. They used the 2x5 rug and just hung it from their ceiling with wire and hooks.
Well bigger is better, right?
So I bought the 6x10 version. Since it was so heavy and I didn't want the rug to sag, I built a frame, glued the rug to some 15/32nd ply then backed it with a 1x4 frame. It has about 150 1.5" deck screws in it.
This monstrosity weighs probably 80-90lbs and took both me and my GF to slide it into the living room.
So much for simple 🤦🏼♂️
Well FUDGE, we’ve had a set back and the retnia detached again. Noticed things were off when I laid down for a nap. Called the doc and they said get here asap. So waiting to hear when surgery will be for round 2. This time will not use the gas bubble and will be an oil bubble. That’s also means surgery #3 to remove the oil. The good news is that only 1 week of face down instead of 2 weeks as before. He wasn’t totally shocked but at least they have a plan B.
And the line to my septic is blocked again.
My auger hit 100 feet and nothing. Need to call the plumber again.
I can't afford this crap right now. I'm tapped, there's only one job in my shop, nobody is spending money right now and I've got a tractor repair bill that's going to be at least $4k.
FML I can't handle another bill right now.
