The one can doesn't fix squeaks.
Spent yesterday afternoon certain that there was just one stupidly simple little thing that I was missing that was making the boiler not run.
Got boiler tech out this morning...
...and he reset one safety fault switch that I couldn't see because it was on top of a control box above eye level.

Agreed there 100%!! I still love Craigslist and miss the days when it was the default online listing platform for everyone. Facebook sucks and the marketplace is terrible.
And for not the first nor last time I will point out that the only thing FB has to sell us is each other. If people went back to CL, CL would be better than FB. I think this is true beyond classifieds. I know I'm yelling at the choir to get off my lawn or something, but...
When Craigslist stops this I'll go back to it. Tires of scrolling through pages of the same business ads.
Shop local...
Ok, I'll try.
Need a control cable for customer's weirdo-brand mower. I can order it from the company website but the shipping costs more than the part.
Part isn't listed in the Stens (industry supplier) catalog but I'm sure it can be matched to another brand.
Was in town (an hour from me) last Saturday. Supplier has recently changed their hours. No longer open weekends (their business sells stuff to home owners). Damn.
In town today (Friday). Go to the supplier so they can match the cable. Closed at 3pm on Fridays now.
Got home. Ordered cable online. Customer can eat the shipping.
I want to shop local. Stop making it hard!
I know that some designer a Hyundai thinks they're incredibly clever working a letter h into the tail lights and headlights of the Hyundai Santa Fe, but somebody needs to tell them that it actually looks like a dog bone and I hate it.
Let them design roof lines, that they should never be allowed to design lighting again

Nice three-day weekend ahead, weather forecast not too hot, everyone's colds clearing up, good opportunity to catch up on yardwork and whatnot. Naturally, Mrs twisted her ankle but good doing yardwork. She'll be on her back for the duration and I will not accomplish a damn thing.
I cannot do a single thing. Ever.
*sigh*
I want to give your business money to perform some work for me.
How berkeleying hard is it to call me back after promising to do so?

Home contractor of some sort?

Automotive, referred to them by my local mechanic, no less.
Probably going to try to call them one more time on Tuesday as it's been almost a week at that point, but I guess if they can't even be bothered to say "no thanks" I'll just go back to the other place that I use for alignments even though that tends to waste a half day due to the travel.
The particularly funny/sad part is that the service writer at the local mechanic who referred me to them specifically pointed out that I might have to leave a message but that they're really good at returning calls...
