I'm tired, and a little sunburned, but I took down a half dozen of the difficult 50'-70' high trees today and none of them landed on the house 30' away. And a few of them were leaning in that direction. Only a handful more to come down, and none of them are close to anything. It's been a busy spring but there's light at the end of the tunnel
I always say I'm gonna go fishing again soon, I enjoyed it and never get to do it because I work my ass off in summer usually.
Today the guy working with me got some bad news about his mom, so we noped the berkeley out and went fishing since the job is on the river .
He caught 2 and I cought my first fish in 30 berkeleying years because I never get to go fishing.
I'm happy
I haven't checked my PayPal email in months, but just a couple days before it turned out, I'd received an email from my favorite author, Robert Rankin, saying that the final book of the 9 part Brentford trilogy was finished and autographed copies were available.
So I ordered it.
It showed up TODAY. From ENGLAND.
I can't get stuff from Harrisburg in 7 days, and the book was shipped from Brighton England to my doorstep in 7 days.
Definitely a win.

Not really that big a number. Until you realize that represents more than a third of my bodyweight. An entire my former manager. (she told me this)
As of today, I have lost 100lbs. I started (officially) march 27 last year. Average for the program i was on is 15-20%. I'm at 34% lost. I am no longer even considered "overweight". That designation has been a part of my life....my entire life. This is new.

I ordered a "Dealertool" (aftermarket Triumph specific OBD-II reader) from the UK last week. Got here in something like 3-4 days.
Recently picked up weights, an bar and bench. Realized the bench was bit narrow affecting hand position, so managed to sell it and get a power rack.
My soon to be 15 yo has been my motivation to get out there and use them, since if I'm going to be there to spot him we may as well alternate sets while recovering.
The minor win is my overweight, out of shape, 51 yo ass was able to bench 215, matching my 15yo.

Final grades are in for the semester and my transcript is updated; granted I was only taking one class this semester but I'll take a 98.82% in this bullE36 M3 class. Still holding on to that 4.0 GPA for the first time in my entire life. The only sort of downside is that I didn't take enough credit hours to qualify for Dean's list, so I'll have to settle for Scholar's list this time. Next semester is going to be a little more difficult - HIS219, Advanced Historical Writing, INF286, Introduction to Web Development, and PHI301, Information Ethics.

My cat had some sort of medical event on Sunday when I was out of the house. Seemed very much like a stroke, but vet thinks it may have been something else. Blood test came back anemic and with elevated liver numbers. That's the bad news. Here's the good - After 2.5 days of subcutaneous fluids, antibiotics, and an iron supplement, she is mostly back to her normal self. Still needs a bit of improvement on her balance, and she is still walking in a circle every now and then, but she is getting better every day. Follow up at the vet is this Saturday.

I asked my wife what she wanted to do for Mother's Day weekend. I honestly think she is more excited than I am.
I hung out with Mrs. preach for a couple hours in the shop while she built her service cart and put her 300pc tool set into it. It really does not get better than that.
Last night in our home with as a family of 4. Kids go to grandparents tomorrow and Monday we go to the hospital to have a new baby join us.
we have a fire going, Lion King on, and we're ordering takeout. It's a good night to be a small family.

Lord's above and below, I am glad I don't work in the shop anymore. I've been out there for about an hour and everything I am and everything I'm wearing is sweaty and sticky.
Now I get to go back to my air conditioned office. That's a win.
Cleared to close on the house, now I just need to avoid doing anything stupid for a week. That's a tall order for me, though
Got off of work early on Saturday. Had a head full of projects to complete, but completely blew them off. Spent the rest of the afternoon with the hellspawn at the park instead.

Healthy baby boy born today! Everyone is good. Dumb as this may be, I was the last boy with my family name (traced back to 1600s), and now I've had 2 sons. In addition to kids just being fun, it's nice there's more chance for the name to live on!

At last weekend's race, we won the Merkur cup for having the least butt turrible Merkur.
This is really more than a minor win, but I have to share somewhere. I got home from work today and took one look at my wife and thought, god damn she is beautiful. Coming up on 23 years of marriage this August and my heart still skips a beat when I first see her each day. I am a lucky man.
