I accidentally left my camera and tripod in the unlocked camper on the truck overnight. They were still there this morning when I remembered.

It's funny, man, I've lived in/near some sketchy areas, but then I recall that I'm parking multiple thousand dollar vehicles (take that whichever way you want) outside and not in a walled-in area and they are usually there in the morning. Same with the power equipment in the shed, the lightbulbs around the house, you name it. Some places that is not gonna work and I'm SO glad (minor win?) that that's not my expectation of life.
In reply to P3PPY :
The worst areas are sometimes the "nicer" neighborhoods. Kids who are bored and don't have to worry about the consequences of their actions steal things or break into houses for the lulz.

Orrrrr also like Guatemala.
I have a friend from there and apparently everyone in the city where she's from has a walled enclave with broken glass atop the walls. That's different.

Fender. I have fat fingers, and a recent update made the keyboard on my phone glitchy as hell (as well as the rest of the phone if im honest) Im just too cheap and busy it go get a new phone.
Just finished a placement test for returning to school. It's amazing how much math falls out after 9 years, but I'm fairly proud of what I did remember and it's one more thing crossed off the checklist. Onwards.
I just had the most productive sneeze I've had all week with this cold. It was both beautiful and disgusting at the same time.

I remember when I was high school age with a nasty cold and a fairly fresh bloody nose. Was walking downtown, attempting to breath.
Choked and coughed out a truly impressive, massive bright bloody red lump onto the sidewalk in front of an ample audience.
It's a wonder they didn't have me isolated for possible TB.
Two minor wins-
We'll see if it lasts next time I'm out, probably this weekend. Could have been a sticky microswitch or maybe a dead spot between the motor brushes and the commutator on a 45 year old electric motor.
Just because there are no microprocessors installed doesn't mean it's simple--
Minor win: got real frustrated with a manager who puts process over information, sent him an ill-advised email calling him a petty bitch (in those words), then got an astonishingly positive personnel review and a bonus.
I have got to find a new job, because if they're working this hard to keep me, then they're berkeleyed.
Yesterday was the 2nd rehearsal with the 3.5 piece band (vocalist sometimes plays simple keys, but rarely). I also got a proper amp and cab (Ampeg SVT-200T, and a Genz Benz 115 LX) and was trying those out for the first time.
Things are starting to click with the group. I got to show off unexpectedly in a song.
We practiced "Seven Nation Army" and the guitar player was like, "I'm not sure what there is for you, since I'm playing with the pitch shifter." I assured him that I'd come up with a good complimentary bass part. I then proceeded to que up a fuzz effect, and unleash ominous thunder.
At the end of the chorus I just plucked a massive open E and held the bass close enough to speaker to let the feedback start to build. Our vocalists eyes got really wide.

I've been pissed and called out some a-holes at my work before, but never like that. Had to reread and yeah you really said that, huh

Backstory is this: I got sick during a 2 week reorganization of the project I'm working on (a federation of many satellite constellations that do nuclear explosion detections including the whole GPS constellation), had one of my co-workers tell the manager that I was out sick, came back two days later to meet my new team, and instead of recognizing that I'm 2 days behind on getting to know how the people I'm supposed work with work, he pulls me out to berate me in the hall for not informing him myself (many things contributed to this, but mostly it was just that I had my co-worker's phone number to text, and not the manager's). The manager is brand new, so I figure this has to be a part of his break-in process.
So I sent the petty email to him, his manager, the manager on my other project (an ancient IR satellite ground station), and left for the holiday.
Apparently that caused some stir.
