I know, I've opened a can of worms with that "post-punk" thing. Let's not worry too much about the genre and post up whatever this stuff make you think of.
I'd heard "Homicide" randomly over the decades, but only found out it was 999 a couple few years ago.
999 - Homicide.
Quite a bit different direction, their tune Obsessed.
I love Bunkers by The Vapors (yes, the same guys who did Turning Japanese. Most of their catalog was better than that, not to knock a catchy tune.)
Shot by Both Sides by Magazine was another one that I'd heard here and there and only found out who it was more recently...
Curious to see whether this brings anything to mind for anyone else...
Oh God... I'll have to browse through the punk covers folder now...

Ah, Siouxsie.
It is one of the great tragedies of my life that too late into a two hour drive to see her and the Banshees play, I realized that I had left the tickets on top of my dresser...
Sigh.
A couple more Siouxsie favorites...
Happy House
Scarecrow
when you say "post punk" I think of bands like Abney Park
In reply to Appleseed:
I see your DEVO, and raise you a PiL.

Great DEVO selection!
From the youtube comments...
I am an alt-punk with no direct 1st degree ties to new-wave. still, i think this might be my all time favorite song.

One of my favourite bands to fall under the 'post punk' banner is Young Marble Giants: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6J2T2uhJlE
Pretty, female vocals over a punchy, minimalist guitar track backed by a home-made drum machine. I really dig that stripped-back/austere sound, and I'm kinda surprised it hasn't been mimicked by any contemporary bands, (that I'm aware of).
Those two bands are awesome. Thanks for the turn on, man!

The Kills fit that description for the most part:

Thanks for the tip!
I love their song 'Last Day of Magic': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkEwk7wZVV8&feature=relmfu
Heard it on the radio a while ago, but never connected track with artist.
