So one of the most annoying thing these days are ads, right- we constantly get bombarded with canoes and whatnot.

For other boards- any ideas on how to put tags into messages so that other posters will get ads?  I'm a participant of a college hockey board, and my team gets it's share of hate.  So it would be interesting if I could get their ads to be from my school....

Any thoughts on what to put into posts so that if they reply, google will pick up on some of the words and they would get ads that would be from my school?

Not sure I understand your motive.  Is this a sensitive and compassionate way to make the world a better place?

A nice way to annoy someone who is being an a-hole.  Give them ads for the school they hate so much.  Seems funny to me as opposed to just outright trolling them.

I think a Google search for something or browsing a store item would be the best way. Could you trick them into clicking a link to a Google search or maybe a Amazon item with your school logo?  Not sure the links would work without them clicking but if they just need to be on the page with a link then hide the links in a period or something less noticeable.

Purely as an intellectual exercise:

Easiest way to guarantee is to specifically buy ad space from the admin, then just use your team's ads.
You can buy ads targeted at certain demographics (30-39, 40-49, male, sports lover, etc) and the ad will target people that meet those demographics.

To troll you'd probably need to copy the link to an ad, then embed it in a hyperlink so that they click on it.  Once the ad's tracking cookies are in their computer they will start seeing more ads from that source.  Might need to do that a few times over a couple months to really get it to stick.

That reminded me of the FBI buying ads that only worked at the Russian embassy.

Maybe if you can get someone's address do similar?

Make a small school donation on his behalf with his return email info and address.  The school will spend significant dollars to try to get him to donate again.

As for old school trolling... My boss in the '90's used to sign up to stuff in the back of magazines and have it sent to my house.  One he signed me up for was an online "university" for a degree in Gun Smithing.  This then added me to a flurry of all things gun, school, NRA, etc.  The humor being that it was all sent to my address but for the name of Haywood Jamblomee.

I specifically remember a mailer, like post card that everyone could see, coming to the house that read:

Haywood Jablomee,
We haven't heard from you in a long time.  Are you still interested?

The best form of trolling in hockey is the Hanson brothers:

That's not trolling.  That's enforcement.

Use their usernames to create burner email accounts. Sign up for all your team "follows" you can with the burner accounts.

Then autoforward all the burner account emails to their personal emails?

Obviously you'll need to get their email addresses. For that, the best way is a simple phish....

(All the above is meant to be funny)

Otherwise, you might try contacting the site admin and offering to donate toward hosting or something and see if they'd help you make all the ads shown support only your team for a period? They probably don't control it but maybe.
