Monday

I just realised that I have gone to work twice today and it is not even 8:00 am.

I remembered I had a proposal to do for a client last night so I did it around 12:30 and here I am back at my desk working again.

I can see me surfing GRM a lot today and not getting much done. LOL

Yesterday was a smokin' day for soaring! Winds 20 - 25 mph, puffy cumies as far as the eye could see. I got towed to 2,000 feet behind the Pawnee and started looking for bumps.

When you feel a slight bump, that's a thermal headed up. You 180 and try to core it, find its center. Oy. After 45 minutes of getting bumped around, flying in circles at a 45 degree angle, watching the horizon spin left to right or right to left, I got up to 4500 feet.

Then that dry in the mouth feel ..... Headache, stomach was a little mmmmm queasy. Ok, lets go down.

I went home and painted part of the trailer.

I'm still queasy, or at least not right.

Monday is tofu, spring water and inside voices.

Nothing but mis-shipped, mis-boxed, and just plain missing parts. Is lunch time yet?

Finally, have the timing belt/water pump done and I have the miata with me at work today. It's a good day.

Mon 1 ... only 4 more mondays this week

Mountain of work, sick wife, and they called an OT shift on Friday night. Oh, and this weekend I have a honey-do list a mile long.

It rained inside my house today.

Fricking hose came off an aquarium pump. Some 15 gallons of it went through the floorboards and "rained" all over the hallway below.

I used all my towels and a couple of quilts to mop it up... but there doesn't appear to be any lasting damage.

I had a government stat holiday and the rally car gets dyno tuned this Saturday.

Mondays ROCK! :p

Worked on all kinds of stuff around chez Curmudgeon. Painted all the air return grilles, rerouted some wiring in the garage so I could open up an area under the steps for storage, then spent the best part of an hour (at $275 per) on a conference call with the attorney for my dad's estate. Oh, fun. Sounds like Lesley had it worse, though.

I almost lost my car to a careless smoker...

Maybe 15 years ago, I had a 40-gallon tank which was the only one of about three aquariums I kept at the time that I had bought new. One day it mysteriously decided to dump all of it's water onto my floor, which fortunately was the ground level of my fashionable 1960 tri-level. Apparently a seam failed. The tank appeared fine and I even filled it about a third of the way up outside to see if it would leak again and it didn't. Needless to say, it never made it back inside the house. Not a whole lot of fun. I don't recall if it was a Monday or not, but I think it might have been.

I'm just grateful it wasn't the 90 gallon downstairs. Ceiling appears to be fine, but if I turn on the hall light, there's a terrific stench. Guess I'll leave it a few days to dry out.

I've never had an aquarium actually leak... although my 55 has a chip out of one corner and I'm always worried that one day it's going to burst.

My car pegged the temp gauge as I pulled in to work. Bad (new) t-stat. Mrs. Oldtin was heading out of town - got her to give me a ride home at lunch to pick up the bike. At the end of the day, car still stuck in the parking lot and the bike needed a jump to start (no hills and it doesn't like cold starts). Almost home and remembered the garage door opener is my only way in - it was still in the bmw - back to work, then back home. Dogs were hungry. Tomorrow will be in the 30s - cold ride to work... Need to get a back up car working.

We were very unexpectedly slammed at my job, which I do not enjoy except for a rare moment or two a day.
got nothing done to my car because there was no time. gotta pay for a speeding ticket tomorrow (there goes my check).
hopefully tuesday will be better. going down to charlotte again, this time to appease swmbo with a shopping trip. then I'll hopefully get over to the garage to actually get to work on a car for once lol
this weekend the optimistic plans are to put the engine into my bud's z28, so we can use the hoist and stand to pull the engine out of my other bud's gsx. all on a sunday. lol. I think we may be over reaching a little.

Most people groan because they have to go back to work on Mondays. I am pulling my hair out because I want to have a job to go to.

Debating the merits of going into Advance Auto and asking if they are hiring. Have an Engineering degree, but not having luck with getting interviews.

One of the things I look forward on mondays is TGUK (reruns for now) and American Pickers.

Monday

Went to get rental car for work trip - place was closed. Cancelled rental and went down the road to another place and got a Kia Rio (yay?) and lost ~1.5hrs from that snafu.

Car accident - highway closed. Lost another 2hrs there.

So I got in at 9:30 PM instead of before 6 and I have to be on site zero dark early. I still have to set my gear up and eat something.

No cellphone service in deepest darkest Northern Ontario from my provider.

Tuesday

Docs weren't in order for my visit. Didn't know and did visit anyway. That could bite me in the arse later on, but I did talk to the guy in charge and he said I did nothing wrong.

Almost had to drop everything, check out and drive to another customer - thankfully resolved with a phone call on the hotel phone with my personal calling card (you have a cell phone...)

it's not even noon on Tuesday.

I did that exact thing almost three years ago. Still at Advance.

I found out my mum is in the hospital with pneumonia. So my Tuesday is just great....

What is wrong with monday ?
