I'd say potato is just as appropriate, if not more, but I think it needs to be more specific than that. However, I'm not sure that mashed potatoes or french fries are appropriate at all times of the day (for most people anyway).
What about steak? Do people really order that for breakfast, or is that just something on menus that no one orders?
Yeah potato is compelling but I think you;re right that you need to narrow it down...
This is a thread about food by and for people who are apparently having one of those Tuesdays. We don't need to qualify anything here. We're all friends, aren't we?
While I have no argument against Pizza, the only challenge with pizza is that it is hard to get fresh, hot pizza in the morning, and I just can't get cold pizza reheated right (though, cold, it's not bad). I have to go with potatoes.
Now... if somebody here has a secret that can make leftover pizza not-soggy and gross, I'm all ears. Please teach me your voodoo magic. I have a feeling I'm getting close with the air fryer, but I haven't nailed the right combination of heat and time yet.

Maybe I was there.
i was a decade late, but yeah.
Pie. Not only goes great as part of any meal, but any time between meals as well.
Breakfast joints don't serve pizza, and pizza joints don't serve breakfast. Answering pizza is really just answering 'leftovers'.

Sure it'd shorten our lifespan considerably, but a life lived eating just bacon for every meal would be a pretty great life for 90% of it
(the remaining 10% would be the final days when our hearts decide that's enough bacon)
I haven't tried any version of the Keto diet, but everyone I know that has said it was G-R-E-A-T, until it wasn't. That varied from 2 weeks to almost 2 months. I could see bacon in the running as part of breakfast, lunch, and supper, but not as the only item for all three.
Egg was my first thought, but some solid options in ham, potato, and pizza. I could stand behind any of these.
It's gotta be by category or something, no?
Bread and potatoes are both super-adaptable starches at home at any meal.
Ham also fits everywhere better than the average protein, but so does steak. And what about jamon iberico? Is that ham, or its own thing? Chicken fried steak vs filet mignon?
Eggs totally belong in a bunch of stuff, but I think of them as less of an anchor item.
In the end, I don't care what we decide. I'm just hungry now.
I mean steak is glorious, but it's a "special" meal and having it too often would totally destroy that.
I'm not sure I've ever had chicken ( with or without "duh") for breakfast? Not that I'm opposed, just don't think I've ever thought about it. I know I've been forced to suffer with turkey bacon & turkey sausage instead of the glory of those items made with piggy parts.
Edit to add: Now that I think about it, I have seen places that do chicken & waffles for breakfast. I have never even thought about ordering it or preparing it at home. Maybe I need to rethink my life choices.

Toaster oven works pretty well too. Stay away from the microwave.
I will eat Costco rotisserie chicken any time of day or night. Great in an omelette, awesome on salad, good in a quesadilla, delicious to grab a piece off of and sprinkle a little maldon on...

I don't know about salsa but it's not unheard of for me to have green chili in three meals a day but that's more of a seasoning than a food.
I asked my wife this question and showed her the thread, and she said, "As much as I want to come up with an original answer, I can't argue against eggs."
I think rice is solid answer, too, considering the rest of the world.

Or in a frying pan with a lid, more of an art than an exact science to get it to not burn on the bottom but it normally works pretty good.
Toaster oven is my go to for pizza reheating though.

Solid calls, but the real answer is air fryer or convection oven. As hot as you can get it and just keep an eye on it until the cheese starts to bubble.
Leftover pizza is also a great way to get rid of other leftovers. Got one pepper left? Not enough to use in a meal, but it's perfect to chop up on the pizza. Cheese, proteins, aromatic veggies, all are fodder for the pie.

Wait is pie an option? That could be a solid 3-meal food.

I like a frying pan, no lid. Lowish heat. That seems to get the crust firm w/o burning and gradually reheats the toppings.

...And the breakfast burrito doesn't even have to be leftovers. Well played, sir.
I've got to go with eggs. I eat a dozen or more every week.
Ham would be a close second.
Not being a big fan of pizza, I don't eat it for breakfast. I could see a breakfast pizza being pretty tasty. Cheese, bacon, breakfast sausage, eggs with a sausage gravy sauce. Hmmm...
