It's amazing the amount of hand wringing one can create for themselves on rather pointless issues like this.
Got the LG Optimus for the wife a few months ago. Wonderful phone, she loves it.
My Tracfone will expire next month, so then it's my turn.
I want to want the Triumph. It's got more bells and whistles! Bigger screen, can stream video to the TV I don't have, surely I'll score better on Angry Birds because of the higher resolution, etc.
But it's also got a whole lot more complaints about bugs. Camera problems, lousy GPS, prone to crashing, eating batteries, etc.
The LG Optimus is rock solid reliable, and does everything I need, and probably almost everything I want.
Arg! I want the bling of a Triumph! I also want a phone that works well, like the Optimus!
GAH!!! Why do I have to tie myself up into knots like this over a stupid phone!!!!

I would still take the Optimus over the Triumph, but there is more coming...

Of these two new devices, the HTC Wildfire looks very nice. http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=3534
Both of these new devices are 3.2" screens like the current Optumus. The Triumph still remains the only 4" screen.
I really like my old Motorola flip-phone with the 1" LCD display and my prepaid plan. Costs me about 150 a year. The phone was free.
I thought this was about a Motorola sponsored Triumph race car. Bummer.

I have a free motorola flip phone also. I use Consumer Cellular, and haven't found anything cheaper anywhere. Of course, I use a phone as a phone...
I have the Optimus. It's wondrous. I watch youtube, go on the internet, use free GPS and everything works well. I love my phone.
Well, I have a Spitfire, of course I want a Triumph! Unfortunately, it seems they hired Lucas to do the wiring.
I can rationalize the buggyness. But less than a day of battery life and really poor connectivity... that's tough to live with.
EdenPrime, your words are the universal ones for the Optimus V it seems. Even my wife echos them. She loves hers.
A slideout keyboard on the next generation model appeals to me. But then my wife showed me how to voice text on hers, making the keyboard superfluous.
And now Bestbuy has the Optimus V on sale for $99.
Grr. I want to want what I want! The Triumph. Why does the Optimus have to keep showing it up in almost every category that matters (reliability, battery life, connectivity, etc).
Still wringing my hands....
Just get the Optimus now and in another 6 months or so when a better than Triumph phone comes out, sell your optimus on CL and upgrade. The only thing the Triumph has going for it is the 1ghz processor. Aside from that the Optimus is just as good. I must say the Optimus is pretty snappy with the barebones Android 2.1? installed on it. I just picked one up for my gf a couple weeks ago from a guy on CL for $120. Already rooted, otterbox, screen protector, 2 extra batteries, and an extra charger.
