I coach a high school bowling team in Vermont. At today's match one of my senior bowlers rolled a perfect game. 300. So proud. And the team bowled a two game total (two games each for five bowlers) of 1968.
Sorry, I just had to brag on these kids. They performed awesome today.

Also clicked for the Chrysler carnage. Also pleasantly surprised. Nice job!!!
Also happy to hear this has nothing to do with Chrysler or 420 shenanigans. Congrats to the kid and coach!
Congrats!
As a longtime casual bowler with a high game of 279, I can appreciate what it takes to roll a 300.
Good work. Bowling needs more kids!

That's awesome. As a former league bowler with a 120 average, he had my respect.
That's great! It's my bowling night and I hope to break 100.....
Congratulations to your son. That's great!
Our high school team THROWS the balls - you the same?
Awesome! I too hope to break 100 in my best games...
Rad. That's like winning at life. When I was playing every week I struggled to break 200. I did watch a buddy roll 299 one night, that last pitch was so disappointing.
Curious, does the champ roll left handed or right?
That's awesome!
It's exciting to see the explosion of high school bowling. A local pro shop owner (and former touring pro) says he is in his shop drilling balls for 2 or 3 hours after closing and a lot of those are for high schoolers. The only thing I don't like is how many are "two handers".
Rolling a 300 is no easy task. That's awesome! I came really close once; rolled a 260-something (266 IIRC?) and never got that close again. When you get toward the end, the pressure is insane!
I've gotten close a few times. The trick is to use the bumpers!

I like your story better
I totally did not even think this, but now wish I had.
Here is the actual pic from the site of the roll!
The kid is not mine. His father coaches with me however and his mom was at the lanes streaming since we have to compete virtually right now. He's a righty from a long line of accomplished bowlers. His dad has at least 10 perfect games. He's averaging 203 so far this year. We have a sophomore averaging 213 currently. We're tied for second in the league currently with one week to go. Looking to add a third title in four years.
Someone mentioned throwing the ball. Nope. In bowling you roll it. The backswing generates the energy needed to get down the lane. You're guiding it, unlike other sports that use the torque of twisting the body to impart energy into the ball.
My high is 279. Amateur league bowler with a 175 average.
