You can't make this up. Several parts of this story gave me a good laugh. 1) Nambla has some coin to spend.

2) They have Regional chapters

3)There is an outspoken "Pedophile community"

4)The post put F. U. Dicker on the story

http://www.nypost.com/seven/03092009/news/columnists/perv_group_puts_10g_hit_on_andy_158663.htm

ALBANY - A $10,000 In ternet bounty was placed on Attorney General An drew Cuomo's head by a suspected agent of the North American Man/Boy Love Association, The Post has learned. The shocking death threat by the infamous organization of pederasts was posted three weeks ago on an Internet news-group bulletin board that originated in The Bronx, law-enforcement sources said. The threat, described by a source as "unprecedented" because it is believed to come from an organization, prompted a sweeping and ongoing criminal probe by the Attorney General's Office and at least one other law-enforcement organization, and subpoenas were issued, sources said. The "reward" was offered under the headline: "$10,000 to shoot Andrew Cuomo in the face!" "I am an official of NAMBLA, and I can confirm that we have raised the cash to reward any individual who manages to accomplish this task. Thank you," read the message, a transcript of which was obtained by The Post. The message, which investigators have linked to an imprisoned pervert with strong NAMBLA ties - and whom Cuomo's office is seeking to keep behind bars under a "civil commitment" law - was spotted by a citizen who brought it to the attention of Verizon, his Internet service provider. Law-enforcement sources declined to reveal the imprisoned man's identity. But an informant connected to the man's case told investigators NAMBLA is, in fact, out to kill Cuomo, sources said. "He said he believes the death threat on the Internet is connected to an effort by NAMBLA to kill the attorney general," an investigative source said. "It is our understanding that people in the, and I hate to call it this, 'pedophile community' are angry at Cuomo's office because he's been making the [Internet service providers] take responsibility for policing child pornography - and he's been very aggressive in seeking to keep NAMBLA types behind bars through civil commitment." Verizon security officers quickly removed the posting and notified police agencies, including Cuomo's office, sources said. "An aggressive criminal investigation" was then launched with subpoenas issued targeting the Internet site and the person who sent the message, the sources said. .... NAMBLA, once a publicly active organization with chapters in New York City and on the West Coast, has largely been driven underground by a series of criminal prosecutions, civil lawsuits and aggressive infiltration by law-enforcement organizations. fredric.dicker@nypost.com

North American Man/Boy Love Association?

I wonder how widespread their membership is.

Do they give you a card to carry so that you can show you are legitimate and not just some pervert?

Only half of this video is funny (only watch half) but NAMBLA is a long running joke on The Daily Show. South Park also did an episode on NAMBLA and though it can be funny, it is a real orginization (which is not funny.)

Has anyone considered that the above quote might have a different meaning to a bunch of pedifiles?

Nope hadn't considered that. I'm fairly certain that Andrew Cuomo is older than 8. Now, if they can tie this to the man whom is imprisoned, they'll be able to send him back to court, and they can keep him locked up longer.

Maybe Andy should look into a CCW Permit like Chuckie Schumer has. Do you know how hard it is to get a Concealed Weapon Permit in NYC?

This quote from the story: 'I am an official of NAMBLA' makes me wonder: How the hell do you get to be an 'official' of something like that? What kind of 'officials' do they have, like president, inspectors , etc? But then I think I really don't want to know.

Chuck has a CCW. I like that guy. He spoke at my graduation from Rochester Institute of Technology. But for someone that left wingy to have a CCW.. That's pretty cool.

Some truth to that in NYC. Seems that people of importance could get a CCW but all the other peons had to make do with knives or break the law. I'm not sure if that's still the case or not.

Most people of importance can still only get a premises permit unless they move large quantities of valubles (like jewelers, armored car drivers ect). You have to be an important politician to carry.

Most people in the city that have them, use them for their carpentry levels or a hardhat hanger.

Good point, I should have specified that there would be some guns in the gun racks.

Hell, what're the meetings like?

Do they have bylaws? Requirements for membership? Fundraisers? Membership drives?

"I'm sorry sir, you can't be a member because you haven't fulfilled the requirements, you're just some quack who wants attention"

C'mon, even the Church Of Satan gives you a membership card: http://www.churchofsatan.com/Pages/Affiliation.html

It must be difficult fundraising. Picture John Turturros character "The Jesus" at your door: "Hi, we're doing a bottle drive to support NAMBLA"

It'd be funnier if it weren't so creepy.

What kinda hoops do you have to go through to get one? Do they just price it out of everyone's reach or is the process so involved that much give up?

My buddy who is against CCW was quick to point out that police officers are typically in favor of strict gun control. Of course there is always an exception for police officers. I told my buddy that if there was legislation that made it difficult for everyone else to carry a gun that did not apply to me, I'd be all for it as well!

Kind of like when Rosie had to admit that her bodyguards carried while she yelled at Magnum for being an NRA spokesman and blaming him for school shootings.

You have to justify a need to carry a gun, and since the police are only a phone call away you don't need to carry one. A premises permit is slightly easier to get.

You'll need to log in to post.
