Seriously, Steve?
If you wanted to start a flounder thread, why didn't you just write "Who should I vote for?" in the subject line.
How come only NASCAR drivers get invited to the White House? How many SCCA National Champions get invitations?
I drive a sports car and I vote too, dammit!
"IMO... regardless of political views, when POTUS sends an invite and wants to honor you at the White House, you accept. #respect," Jimmie Johnson wrote on Twitter.
That sums it up. Regardless of politics, I'd think the last thing NASCAR would ever do would be to snub the president. NASCAR and patriotism go hand in hand.
if I received an invite for the Prez, I'm pretty sure I'd turn it down... and I don't mean an invite from this one ... pretty much any of them .... just not interested in meeting any politician if I can help it
Steve, what does it matter to you, you can't vote anyway you upside down convict ex-pat 'roo-screwin' Aussie screwball!
I've met several sitting presidents and they are just people.
And as far as respecting the "office" that begins at the presidential level.

Really? That's neat. I'd love to meet a POTUS, from either party. That's pretty cool!
I give a lot of credit to Jimmie Johnson for his Tweet. That is saying it just like it is. you do not have to respect the man, but you have to respect the office.
On the other hand, if a driver's sponsor told them they're required to attend some corporate function on the same date, I imagine it puts the driver between a rock and a hard place...do they go have tea and sandwiches at the White House, or do they tick off someone who's paying them millions of dollars.
