Not usually into this but I've been watching and the committee has their work cut out for them.
Florida State - undefeated, not a weak schedule. Seem to barely squeak out wins but always to win
Alabama - one loss, strength of schedule, tough to beat
Oregon - one loss, strength of schedule, BLOW OUT wins
TCU - one loss (Baylor), strength of schedule,
Baylor - one loss, good conference
Ohio state - one (blow out to a bad team) loss, really good play since although panned to lose week in and week out.
I think FSU, Oregon and 'Bama are a lock. If head to head losses matter Baylor leap frogs TCU. Will OSU leap frog Baylor for strength at that point?
Yowsas!
I think Ohio State will get in simply because their fans travel and spend lots of money.
If that's the criteria there are a kit of teams in front of Ohio! There was a poll that showed fan participation by money and ohio state was #12. Big money was Texas/Florida/Oklahoma.
Since they are in the mix though I do see your point.

I'd find it hard to believe that a team that had a blow out win in their final regular season game, would drop 2 places … IF that were to happen, I'd expect that the team that beat them (Baylor) would be the one to make the jump, as opposed to tOSU … just don't expect TCU to drop 2 places after a win
too bad GA Tech let us down
and I really didn't expect tOSU to do that to Wisconsin (3rd string QB) … yeah the committee has a tough job ahead of them …
this really isn't much better than the BCS … I was an advocate for an 8 team playoff for many yrs … there really wouldn't be much to complain about if you can't make the top 8 … 'course all the other divisions of the NCAA use a 16 team playoff … I really don't understand why the "big boys" can't do that
Yeah, I don't think a four place playoff really works, especially with the quantity and really quality of the teams available. Nowhere else does a four place playoff work without some kind of runoffs ahead of time.
My brother said HE thinks FSU will get dropped but I can't see that with an undefeated returning champion team.

as much as I'd like to see FSU dropped, I don't see that happening
So...
No1 bama vs No4 Ohio state
No2 Oregon vs No3 FSU
It's on now.

since there were no upsets this weekend, my guess is …. No 1 'Bama vs. No 4 FSU, and No 2 Oregon vs. No 3 TCU …
I think that the committee dug themselves a hole when they moved TCU up to 3rd … makes it hard to justify dropping TCU in favor of Baylor (head to head victory over TCU) or tOSU with a bad loss (albeit early in the season) to VA Tech
the committee listed head to head as one of the criteria …but then failed to consider that several weeks ago when they put TCU ahead of Baylor
No guesses, my post is what it is .
They said they would wait till the end to weigh head to head and conference champions, so Baylor steps over TCU but Ohio state is ahead of Baylor so they move up also. Not pretty and there will be some pissed off fans for dang sure.

yeah … I just realized that … hadn't realized that the final rankings were out already …. mea culpa
I think them not having a conference championship game really hurt Baylor and tcu, if they played each other , then the winner might have had a better shot . Either way there was going to be ticked off fans. I can't wait to watch on the 1st. I have no horse in this rave I just hope there are two good down to the wire close games. And I have to admit I was really hoping fsu would lose last night.

My wife is a "wear red" fan also, I've watched quite a bit this year and if they play like last night it will be a game. If they play like they have other times it will reinforce the belief in other conferences that the B1G is weak.

Agreed. While the first time starter/3rd string QB winning the conference is impressive , it's a certified big deal going up against Alabama. Jones has a lot riding on his shoulders.

Couldn't be more excited for Ohio St. vs Bama. Two powerhouse programs with long football tradition.
But the Tide will keep rolling! 35-21 with the Tide pulling away in the 4th quarter is my prediction.

In reply to rotard:
FSU shouldn't be undefeated this season, they either barely scraped by or were allowed to. Case in point, ND game. That one should have been a big "1" in the L column.

I mentioned that in my original post. No big wins over high caliber opponents. They win though....

By that measure, OSU should have 2 losses. They didn't win the PSU game, as the refs totally missed two calls- an early interception was reviewed AGAIN after the game to be ruled not, and a field goal should have at least been a delay of game.
But that didn't happen either.
coulda, woulda, shoulda... didn't.
(and I hate the buckeyes)
Grrr....Don't remind me about the PSU game...I just got that out of my head. (long time PSU booster)
I hope that Bama just takes them behind the wood shed like they have in the past and Oregon just lights up FSU.
It needs to be a minimum of 6 teams. The 5 power conference winners and an at large. All of the Power conferences need to have a championship game so that the winner of that game is in.
Living in Alabama and growing up in a state next to Ohio, I wish both Alabama and OSU could lose...
