Need a tow in Atlanta

I was given a '91 Ford Ranger with a blown head gasket. Truck is in Kennesaw, I live in Stone Mountain. It has been a while since I needed to move a non-op vehicle around and my tow guy closed up shop since then. By the time I rent a tow dolly, borrow a truck, and pay gas frankly I think I'd be better off getting it towed. Plus, with a newborn at home my wife isn't too keen on me spending a day retrieving a dead truck. Anyone around Atlanta have a towing service they recommend? MetalMan had a cool guy come pick up the car I sold him, but I lost the number. So far I've been told Falcon Towing was worth a call but the guy hasn't called me back yet.

Where's Camel Towing when you need them?

I really have nothing helpful to add, but I will say I had no idea there where a handful of us in Stoned Mountain. We should get a BBQ together or something, 'cause I'm probably better at grilling than wrenching. That said, I'm here if you guys need a hand with anything.

Ha! Yeah, we need to have a BBQ or something. Les (fastasleep) is in Lawrenceville last I heard. And MetalMan isn't far either.

I just got off the phone with Howard at Brooks Towing (770 466-4652). He's picking up the truck for me today. I got his name from the guys at Sentry in Lilburn. Gotta love the good ol' boy network!

I wonder how many active GRM forum members are located in Atlanta... A BBQ would be a lot of fun. I am located in the Smyrna area.

Awesome. I'm on Rockbridge between StoneMt./Lithonia Rd & S.Deshon, near the Food Depot.

I'll volunteer my house as a BBQ spot. Hell, I have 3 grills so might as well (don't ask - I seem to be collecting them for some reason).

Everybody probably has plans this weekend, but my Sun afternoon is clear so far if anyone wants to do something spontaneously. I think Maroon92 and DukeofUndersteer are heading down this weekend so I'll check with them too.

If not this weekend, I'm sure we'll get it together sometime.

Now to cram it in the garage with the other cars. That will involve furniture dollies, a floor jack, and possibly a running start.

Yep, I'm coming back from one pocket of GRMers to another. I'll be moving to either Woodstock or Marietta.

As for towing, I use a local guy in Marietta/Roswell named Alonso. I'll try to find his number
