Any fellow GRMr's playing this game? It's no Gran turismo 5, but it is pretty cool! and i found it quite a change/ challenge from the typical sensitivity of GT games on the joystick. Not to mention the ton of real world tracks.. who else can say they've got Bathurst/Mt panorama on console!!

GT5 is the only game I play. I just wanted to make sure you understood that there's still time for you to check the rules on the current GRM racing league series and pick out a couple of cars to run in the GT and Saloon classes. Race 2 of 10 runs tonight. The room should be up @ 8:30 or shortly after. Come join us tonight.
I hope I can get home in time for the racing. Right now our season is winding down, and with 2 regional club races for our FV class left, and SCCA run-offs right in the middle of those, I have very little time! If I do make it in, it will probably be without a committed car choice, until i have time to make an educated decision!
I find that NFS has some "exaggerated vehicle dynamics"
It takes some getting used to when bouncing from a game like GT5 or Forza...
+1 on Maroon's comment. I played Shift and had to put it down. I like simulators, i like arcade racing, but I can't do the in-the-middle thing.
I liked Shift for what it was, and it got my son Ian into racing games. I have not decided it I will get 2 or not but probably will.
I love it! Playing it the second time around now.
I have been playing racing games on PC, 360, PS2 and now PS3 ever since I was little. When it comes to sims, PC only. GT5 is awesome but it still annoys me lol and in my opinion better than all the Forza's. I like Shift 2 because it's in between, it gives a sim feel to us hardcore guys but at the same time gives the arcadey for the casual gamer so it's a good game that incorporates both and ask any game developer, they'll tell you that is a hard thing to do. I love the cars in the game and the tracks that I actually like, it gets exposure to the cars and tracks that americans miss out nowadays. I love it especially with the classics dlc pack, all kinds of GRM type goodness and it's just a nice 90% realistic racer.
I just looked at the cars in the DLC. I think I am going to stop at Walmart on the way home, the game was $39.
Ive got NFS Pro Street for Wii...its not bad, but its not a great replacement for a real sim. Drag racing with the chuck in the vertical position is pretty fun, but the lag with the chuck as a wheel (flat) is irritating to say the least. Im probably not going to spend the $$ on SHift...I just need face the fact I need to trade up to PS3.
Your problem is the wii. :)
Prostreet was decent!
I like it, especially with the Legends Pack download. Where else can I pit two of my actual cars (MKI Austin Cooper S, AE86 Corolla) against each other. I don't have an XBOX so Forza is out of the question, and i've kind of gotten tired of Gran Turismo due to the lack of actual AI. My biggest complaint is Shift 2's lack of support for my older racing wheel, which Gran Turismo still lets me use. I also don't get as many chances to sit down and play video games with my job how it is, family, and keeping two real old cars on the road and ready to autocross so it's nice to just be able to pick a game up and have fun with it.
my first car in shift 2 was a cos escort. thats really all that needs to be said. lol
I like that you can "upgrade" the cars and all, but, not being a sim, the dynamics were a little off sometimes.
fun game though, we were having more fun playing dirt 2, though, honestly, which is even less realistic in the braking department, but maybe a little better in the steering sensitivity. the cars on dirt were a little looser than i thought they actually would be in real life, I felt.
quick footnote about the cossie in nfs: we painted it hot pink. it was awesome. lol
Just bought the legends pack tonight, super cool cars and tracks!
The "try to beat Chris Rado" challenge is where I am stuck. I cant use too good of a car, because I can't seem to control a Gumpert Appollo very well, but if I use too poor of a car, Chris Rado just walks away from me!
