My wife has been sick all week, and I finally convinced her to go to the hospital today. She was nauseous all week with severe abdominal pain. Turns out that she has pancreatitis (sp?) with a side of diabetes.

They are keeping her for observation for the next few days. Not sure what the next steps are, but this sucks.

Thanks in advance guys.

Hang in there. Hopefully the medical care she's getting will quickly put her on the road to recovery. Best of luck. Good vibes going your way from here!

Sorry to hear it. Gallstones? Hopefully resolves and goes back to normal soon. Since pancreas secretes insulin, not surprising on the diabetic thing.

Thanks everyone. It's going to be a hard road for her to right the ship, but she is one of the strongest people I know and I have no doubt in my mind that she can do it. I mean, she puts up with all my automotive shenanigans, she has to be a saint!

Getting a handle on things is the hard part. Modern medicine is really good at sorting out many things once they have a target. Good luck to her (and you too)!

Also if you want any zero sugar, zero to near zero fat recipes, I'm your guy. Eliminating as much of the function needed by the pancreas helped me regarding pain. Boneless skinless chicken breast and tuna steaks will be her friend, along with leafy greens. Sauces and dressings won't be though, nor will fruit.

Yeah, we both need to eat better. While she is certainly forced to now, I'm not too far from flipping that Diabetic switch myself. I'm planning on joining a gym too. Gotta start taking care of ourselves.

Might want to take a gander over at the Sprockets forum too. There are some great bike paths up there, that could help you get active.

Best of luck.
