So, just wanted to be clear...I'm searching 14" rims, correct? And the easiest cars to pull that from would be a similar year Toyota Corolla?
It would seem that the answer is to match what size is on your car now, unless I've missed some reason you can't verify your current setup.
They're the stock Geo rims. I went ahead and measured them (diameter from lip to lip) and got 15". The tire size is 175/65R14. Not sure if that last number if the wheel size. Sorry for the dumb questions...not nearly on the same level with cars as some of you guys here unfortunately.
The number you need is in your tire size, and it is indeed 14 inches. Wheels are sized in the bead area which isn't readily measurable when a tire is installed on it.
Great. Thanks cuz.
I'm sure I'm probably oversimplifying but not any 14" wheel will do, right? Obviously a 4 lug and a quick Google search says that the width needs to be 5.5"? Anyway to easily check width at junkyards/PnP's when there are tires on the wheel?
In reply to BattlePope :
stamped on back side of most wheels it will give you width and offset...e.g. 7 j13 (7 inch wheel w/13 mm offset). Keep in mind you need to have correct diameter for 4 bolt lugs.
if the interweb is correct it lists a 5.5 j42. and 4 x 100 mm bolt pattern. 5.5 inch wheel with 42mm offset.
Great. Thanks Ovid. Is a 7th gen Corolla (with stock rims) going to be the easiest wheel that will work as a replacement? Or is it just something that I'll just have to specifically look at once there?
Is the bolt pattern spec listen on the wheel anywhere at all? Or is that something I'll have to do the eye test with?
In reply to BattlePope :
diameter of lug nUT pattern usually is not on wheel. Measure across opposite side holes center to center. 110 mm is 4.33 inches. Might want to measure center hole opening also. Maybe take one of your wheels with you.
where are you...someone local on here may be able to help you
At the PnP now and think I found one! Pretty sure it's a stock rim of a '97 Prizm (it was in trunk; wasn't mounted). Looks really similar. 14", 4 bolt. Tried checking back of when for width but didn't see any distinguishing marks. Only think I saw was a clip on the lip that said "1.0 P-zn 28". Saw something similar on my wheel but I do remember the first number was 0.5 rather than 1.0. Is that something I should be worried about?
checked interweb and that should work...

THANKS!!

Your Pick-n-Pull Cherry has been broken!
Make sure it's not a space saver spare Rim though
In reply to BattlePope :
Those clips on the rim are balance weights, and they come in a variety of sizes (i.e. Weights), and they go in 1/4-oz increments.
1.0 P-zn 28 is a 1 ounce weight, which is almost exactly 28 grams.
when you take it to have the tire mounted and balanced, they will remove all the existing weights and put the mounted wheel/tire on the balancer to determine how much weight to add, and where to add it, so it doesn't vibrate when you're driving down the road.
