Not a bass, but still pretty beefy: http://www.prsguitars.com/mushok/index.php
I broke out out for real tonight. I like it even though I'm still figuring it out. Right now it's tuned to B E A D F♯ B since that's how it was shipped.

That thing is cool, except for the association with the dude from Staind. I know you'll do better.
I loathe that band.
I'm not familiar with their works, but this video is what pushed me over the edge: http://youtu.be/SFcts1BpZMs I just dig that sound.

Staind = Butt Rock from our lovely state of Mass. Along with Godsmack, they rank among my most hated bands ever to call this state home. And don't give me the "...but their old stuff was really good" argument. They are terrible.
This is the kind of crap you hear blaring out of the speakers of every late 90's/early 00's Grand Prix GTP with tinted windows sleazing around the South Shore of Boston, especially Weymouth.
But I like the idea of a baritone guitar. I still have yet to play one. Seems like a natural fit for me, because I play both bass and guitar.
When I think "baritone guitar" the Fabulous Thunderbirds' "Tough Enough" is the first song that comes to mind... a child of the 80's am I...

GET OUTTA MY HEAD.

It's berkeleying weird though, he's got like 20 different (okay...maybe 2) "signature series" guitars. Pretty sure Ibanez made one too. I specifically didn't buy it because that dude's name was on it, gay as that sounds. If it's got 6 strings, and it's a "signature" baritone guitar, it's a Mike Mushok or whatever.
The PRS version is berkeleying rad lookin' though. The lack of markers ON the board would drive me insane. I'm to the point now where I pretty much won't even consider a guitar that doesn't have block inlays.

I wondered if that would bother me, and to be honest I don't even notice. The side dots are nice and white.

By the way, I probably shouldn't tell you that guitar was at the Mitty.

I said the same thing the last time I was in the market for a bass. I went out to buy a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass with the maple neck and huge black block inlays, and I came home with a Warwick Streamer Standard with a Wenge neck and no inlays. The two basses were the same price and I just couldn't say no. It has the side dots. I immediately thought that I wasn't ready for something without inlays, but I was wrong.
I still really want a Vintage Modified Jazz though, but I'd probably get the 5er if I was going that route. I don't have a 5 string bass yet.

Same here... given the choice, I prefer no inlays on a dark fret board and only on the side. My ESP is this way as are all classical guitars. It's not like you can see the fretboard when you're playing anyway.
On maple I like the dots. Just looks better.
And...

Yeah, after everybody said "I'm bringing my axe! Let's do some campfire jammin'!" I'm really happy I drove BACK 20 miles to the house to get my acoustic, had to re-arrange crap around it all weekend, tell people not to sit on it...and then nobody showed up with their gear. That was awesome.
Well, that'll learn you. I picked up the baritone during that trip and figured I'd rather unpack it under a less muddy conditions.
I played it more last night. It's perfect for the Repo Man theme song.
We need to rent a room at the Best Western at the Challenge for a jam session. If someone supplies a drum kit, I'll hit the skins.
I've been looking for some single coils in my life... maybe I should widen my gaze from tele/strats to other guitar makers...
How does the quality of the Danelectros compare to Squiers or the MIMs or...?

It's called "The Lobby."
