I let my Polaris PWC go last summer to make way for the boat, and yesterday I said goodbye to my last Polaris 2-stroke, my Scrambler 400.
My father bought this 1999 model in 2008 for $1500. The plan was to use it for hunting (they scouted herds from ATVs then hiked back in to hunt apparently). He had a little 250 and wanted a second for friends and picked this up. He used it for a year or two before they banned ATV everywhere so I took it under my wing.
Over the years, I had fun on it, rode it when I could and crashed hard once. I replaced things as they broke or fell off and it was in pretty great condition and ran well. The market was strong, I have no friends who ride offroad (or time) so it was time to go. I listed it for $2500 and could have sold it at that if I was patient, but a kid came along with $2K cash and really wanted it so off it went.
