I love these. Do you? My wife hates them as she complains about my sodium intake.

How do you eat them? I let them sit and cool, and then I drink the soup part, slurp the noodles into my mouth as I flatten the styrofoam a bit and eat them.

No spoon or fork, no dishes to clean, no stopping work as I eat them in front of my computer. Maybe this is bad for me.

Love them. Noodles with a fork, drink the broth. Yes they will probably kill you from high blood pressure or clogged arteries, but better that than having you brain slowly disintegrate.

Best noodle cups?

Does not compute.

Maruchan is good. I always keep a few around... cases, that is.

Nissin makes some good instant bowls but more expensive.

All of them are about as good for you as a collapsed lung. They are very similar to a big mac in terms of sodium with a little less fat.

One thing to wrap your mind around when it comes to ramen is that it's twice cooked. The first cooking happens before it's packaged. The first time around, it gets fried. Once you account for the high sodium, you have a very tasty snack that's no better for you than a juicy cheeseburger.

I eat them once in a while using chop sticks. I eat the noodles and leave most of the salty broth in the cup.

My wife gets much better ramen at the Japanese grocery store near her office. I guess I'm becoming a snob.

I want to find a place that makes real Ramen Soup bowls. I had one once and it was delicious and very filling; they are usually very large portions.

I seem to like the ones made in Thailand the best.

My kids used to take the ramen soups to school, throw a little of the flavoring on the crispy raw noodles, and eat them as a snack.

yeah they were replacing the room that added the "flavoring" and the walls were full of maggots..

I had a former co-worker who used to work in a factory that made candy bars. His job was incoming inspection and part of that job was to use a black light to inspect gaylord containers full of nuts for rat piss.

The worst part was when he said that there was a acceptable amount before refusing a shipment.

As far as the best cup o' noodles....

Yuck. I lived on those for a good part of my freshman and sophomore year. Now that I can cook for myself, no thanks.

But since you asked, I found that the best was to cook them, put in the flavoring, mix it up, drain it (the "soup" part of it was nasty to me, I was in there for the noodles) and put in a ton of hot sauce.

Bullion cube, crack a few eggs in there... ah, college.

I even did Thai-style and threw peanut butter in them.

Cup O Noodles are not deep on my "bad food" list though.

The best instant noodles...

Made as per instructions on the packet, served with a fried egg, garnished with the fried onion.

Probably mostly just MSG, really, but damn tasty.

Not half bad if you only use half the flavor packet, but I've long since graduated to pot pies. Just as bad for me but feels like more food for the $.

Oh yeah, I already know this since I bought this book a year ago. But all these stories have discouraged me from buying more. Thanks.

With the Maruchan cup, in the first post, I'd dump the freeze-dried veggies out, add water to just cover the noodles, nuke for a minute, stir, nuke for two minutes, then let it sit for five to ten minutes (or however long until I remember what I was doing). I like to let the noodles soak up as much soupwater as possible.
