found my own '14 Chevy Sonic 1.4 T 6sp
that's a Carolina Blue car
I was so tired of black cars … it was either this, or a burgundy, or white …. whichever I could find with as close to the options package as I could find
first non Honda (other than winter beaters and tow vehicle) since 1976 LOL
better ergonomics (for how it fits me) and better gas milage
I actually like that color. Is this one of the cars that you can throw a tune at and make killer power?
yes … was at a a-x with a friend who works at a shop where the shop owner has one …
2 options for the tune .. on 93 octane he said his boss has all but doubled the hp and torque, the tune can also be done for 87 octane (so you don't have to be sure to have an empty gas tank) with correspondingly less hp/torque increases …accessed by turning OFF the cruise control … to run OEM you turn the cruise control back on .. pretty neat
he said something about 28 in of boost …...
A) of course
B) of course
sold the Integra … second person that looked at it … must have priced it too low
well I've owned 7 Honda's that I say were hatchbacks (and Honda says they are hatchbacks)
are we going to start this again ?
I've been genuinely curious about these. I've not driven one, but the formula seems right that if I was to find a cheap used one, it could be a deceptive little hoon rocket.
One of my employees has a new one with a 1.8 and a 6spd. I was surprised how low the mpgs are. The 1.4 does better but I feel that such a small car shouldn't struggle to get 40.
On the other hand the ergonomics are awesome and it is really roomy inside. The shifter action is good and it isn't terrible to look at, there still aren't bunches on the road yet either.
our TT director (NASA-SE) has the Cruze version of this … larger, sedan, same drive train.
he is by no means a hyper-miler … races high powered cars … he and his wife got one a yr and a half ago … he told me, that they have yet to get a tank of fuel that ended up less than 40mpg … and that on occasion, on long highway trips, have hit 50
I was seriously considering a Cruze … but after having had only one car out of the last 12 (since 1976) that wasn't a hatchback … I decided that I really couldn't see myself in a car with a trunk … had to have the hatch
Nice!!
You are going to pull up in that and I'm going to expect a hot chick to jump out. Boy that's going to be a let down.
Looks nice, I really don't see many of them on the road here in pa. They do interest me. How do you like the interior?
Neat car. I have a 1.4t 6speed Cruze I bought 4 months and 18,000 miles ago. I am averaging +/- 35mpg mixed in mine. You can exceed 40mpg pretty easily if you keep it at 65 or so. 75 should bring you around 38mpg. Really not bad cars and quite torquey down low with that tiny turbo.

I don't find them to be small. Just park one beside my 1991 GTI and it's pretty apparent how large it is.

Weird, I park by it every day; it's about the same size as my rabbit.... A little bigger (taller, longer) but not by much.

so far it's very comfy … I wanted the jet-black/brick colored interior …
I waited to the end of the model yr
and if there were ANY of the blue exterior and the brick interior, there aren't any left anywhere (and the blue won't be offered in '15)
but the ergonomics seem better for me than any of the Hondas I've had … the only complaint I've got so far is the window sill is too narrow … I've got to learn to rest my left elbow on the door handle, not the window sill …. and even if it were wider, it's really too high for comfort … as is with all new cars

my Mom has a '13 Fit. this seems about the same length, but a bit wider, and about the same height
