love all the ideas .. but am still waiting to hear from our GRM overlords
It's a foolproof plan. Every all motorsports network that has existed has ended up being worth enough for another major network to drop money to buy it. rinse and repeat.
while we're st it, maybe we could start a channel that shows music videos.
dyintorace wrote: This does not bode well for fans of motorsports on TV.
Meh. Provided they still air Rolex & Continental, channel 607 on DIRECTV will be on about the same amount of time.
I'll watch MMA & MLB, just as much as I currently watch the infinite reruns of Pinks and Monster Jam, let alone the gems of their original reality programming.
Tune in next week to GRM TV and check out our new programming:

FTFY
Hell, we could have a permanent production crew here in Evansville with all the dumb crap me and my friends are doing. The list of builds that we could cover includes (but not limited to):
1.8t in a MKI Scirocco for under $500
Miata drive train and suspension swap into a MKI Fiesta for about the same budget
The Little Lamb-orghini
The turbo Zetec '86 Escort Chumpcar
Restoring a 944 (although I just finished that one)
Replacing a head gasket on another 944
5 speed swap in an E30 (just finished that one too, but have more work to do on the car).
Finishing my '66 Fastback.
Seriously. Get me out of my E36 M3ty 8-5er and on the GRM TV! I'm fairly charismatic, knowledgeable, and not terrible looking.
I've got my own series going (1 episode ) that I have yet to show anyone but close friends . . . . Vacant Highways ep1: East Utah
I'm more than happy to continue production on my own dime if anyone gets this internet channel up and running
That sucks about speed. . . and I thought it was bad when it turned into the nascar channel. . . . no more passtime???

Speaking of which.... i need a TII trans. Got one down there?
Which "paddled watercraft" company could we get signed on as a sponsor?
We would need something like the following, "This commercial interruption brought to you by Old Town, designer and manufacturer of classic, yet innovative, watercraft for over 100 years."

We are pleased to announce a new program at GRM TV:
Wheel of Power Plant / Wheel of Platform: Spin the wheels... make it happen... tonight at 8.
In reply to JohnRW1621:
We need to avoid auto companies as sponsors. That way we can speak truthfully about cars and we won't have to worry about them pulling advertising.
How about getting them started young?
How to Modify your Powerwheels!
1. Double the voltage
2. Uh-Oh, the Gearbox just failed due to extra power. How do we fix that?
3. Wheelie bars
4. Doughnut time!
5. etc.
In reply to Adrian_Thompson: Amazing
In reply to aircooled: I like it!
In reply to CGLockRacer: Tool companies, paddled watercraft, all-types of vehicle fluids, parts suppliers, etc. etc.
Oh, and maybe we can pray for a bidding war for primetime slots (I said slots) between Hooters and Tilted Kilt.

Only if I can be the plucky, yet lovable, young gun with a car named Oliver.
...I'm also not totally unfortunate to look at :P AND I'm probably one of the few Mechanical Engineers that would rather explain things in simple terms than in Engineering principles.

I think a better show would be "You Put What (engine) Into Where"
We could also have a show called "Get Off My Lawn".
You'll need to log in to post.
