You didn't go to Taylorsville HS in Taylorsville, UT, did you?Nope. Potomac Falls HS in VA. Sounds like we all would get along just fine though. Maybe we can arrange for both our graduating classes to have our 15 reunion together on Facebook. lololololol
Better make it the 16-year...
For GPS and Datsun310Guy:
went to the 10 yr and the 20 yr .... just for the heavy drinking ( which is pretty much were I was back then ) .... have absolutely no idea why I went to the 30 yr... didn't go to the 40 and don't plan on going to the 50
My grandfather actually went to his 65th, which, by then, had become a small gathering for lunch. He said that there weren't many classmates left and none of them were able to stay up very late anymore.
I enjoyed running across a cool, popular, good looking guy who I looked up to in high school and who was good at charming the girls in high school. When I ran into him, he'd packed on the pounds, was smoking, and getting driven around by his not-so-attractive girlfriend in her old Subaru. He learned to get by on high-school level charm, and never got past that.
I'd been the awkward geeky kid in highschool and have since learned how to make myself look good, worked out and put on some more muscle, talk well with people who were more sophisticated... and I was driving my M Coupe at the time. Man that was satisfying.
So this thread made me care way more than I should about people who I despised for a what turns out to be a miniscule 4 years of my existence. Apparently there was a small 10 yr reunion and from the group shot everyone looks 10 years older. The only interesting tidbit from the blog I found was how many of the people there had been married twice already. Now I can go back to not caring about them.
Went to my 10 year reunion and hated every minute of it. It was like a life contest, who had the biggest house, nicest car, highest paying job etc. Pretty much all the dicks I couldn't stand in school were there, and found out they hadn't changed a bit. They were just older dicks.
The one appealing thing, which is on topic, was that all the girls I wanted to bang looked like hammered ass. The flip side was that allthe girls I overlooked turned out to be hot as hell!
well 10 year is a few months. but i saw prob half my graduating class a few weeks ago. women a few have gone down hill. but majority are the same or better(i fall into the way better category tho what category over all i was in in hs is up for interpretation) guys alot have gone way down in that the guys who took care of themselves in hs most have stopped.
My 25 year was last year. Reluctantly, I went. All the stuck up bitches that thought they were hot are still stuck up, but only "warm". The cocky jocks are still dicks. The average guys and girls that I hung out with in HS are still average. Almost everyone is a little heavier, a little balder, a little grayer, etc.
The 15 year was expensive - $45/person for a taco bar, cash bar, no entertainment, in the basement of a golf resort. I said "F no" to the 20 year, because it was also expensive. The 25 year was $60/person, but the food was only slightly better than a taco bar, with free beer & cocktails, at a classmates bigass house. I can eat and drink alot, but not $60 worth.
Each time, I end up talking to the same people I see on a regular basis. So, I'll not go another CR, unless it's a BYOfood/drink in a park or something
I think my 10 year just happened, or it will soon, either way not caring.
Maybe in 10 more years I might be in a position to brag.
I went to one of the events. I walked around looking for one person in particular. A girl I probably wouldn't have thought looked familiar at all in any other circumstances stopped, stared at me with her head tilted and her mouth open, asked if I was Trent. I said "yes and you are?" She stated her name, I asked if she knew where Kathi was and thanked her when she pointed the way.
All in all I am pleased with the way my generation is aging. They looked good for being 38-39 years old. If I had to guess I would have thought early 30's for most of them. There were a couple of folks that I thought "Were they teachers back then or something?" who turned out to be fellow students, but for the most part they were an attractive group of people. People I had nothing in common with and will probably never see again. I am ok with that.
