A favorite of our friends north of the border.

"Creamy"?

Mixing fruits and veggies in mayo seems kinda gross to me, but not as much as the idea of "chunky" mayo.

Not sure which border that is north of, but I'm north, and that is both unfamiliar and repulsive to me.

We have friends in Montreal.  I found that, knowing it was fake, and sent it to them.  Their take was much the same as yours - disgusting (as was intended devil)

Ok. So since there were really no other suggestions of what would be be a better mayo than Hellman's than possibly Duke's I have ordered a bottle from Amazon. I spent a considerable amount of time in the South growing up so I don't know how I don't remember this brand. Will report back on the comparison.

Side note did you know you can buy a 30 pound pail of Hellman s for only 51.99?

I'm waiting for the battle of the BBQ sauces myself.

Vinegar vs tomato vs whatever the berk mayo based Alabama white sauce is, hot vs sweet, tang, viscosity, beer vs soda vs other based, etc etc.

I tried to go down the rabbit hole of aioli and home made mayo, but everybody ignored me.

I suspect that's for the best, I was feeling trollish.

TLDR...

I made a nice tuna samich yesterday with diced celery, olives, & fresh jalapeno on a toasted French roll.

I basically never prepare anything or order anything with high calorie / fat ingredients such as mayonnaise but since it was Mother's Day I decided to splurge and grabbed the bottle of mayonnaise out of the fridge.

Before squirting some into the bowl of ingredients I had prepared, I looked at the nutritional label, did the math, and realized that the bottle contained 4,000 calories!!!

Nope, nope, nope.

You aren't supposed to eat the entire jar at one sitting. Just a tablespoon, 94 calories.

I'm kind of there too.

It's really a waste of calorie space if you watch that sort of thing. Just not worth it

Why the need to have one better than the other? Pesto has it's place like aioli does, which is essentially just flavored mayonnaise.

I like all the BBQ sauces, especially one restaurant that was here in Oklahoma. It was a strange mix of tomato and vinegar based, a touch sweet with a nice vinegar bite. But their smoker caught on fire and burned the entire building down.

Fun fact:

Hellman's/Best Food (ie UniLever) make 90% of the Mayo on the market.

While Dukes, McCormick and Ken's have some market share, it's so small and regionally specific that there is concern that more dominant flavor and texture of Hellman's will make everyone view anything else with disdain - and it's worked - look at how people view Miracle Whip.

I'm not sure if it counts as mayonnaise or not but I really like Sandwich Pal Horseradish Sauce.

I figured it's valid to discuss since Miracle Whip isn't mayonnaise anyway so clearly this is a sandwich creame sauce discussion thread.

For actually mayonnaise I use Helmans.  Or I will buy a store brand of the olive or avacodo oil variety.

Store-brand "Vegan mayo" is honestly really good. I'm kind of impressed at how "little" mayo needs to just be mayo.

Mayo is good on fries. Europe has this 100% correct. This is not even a hot take, simply existential truth.

Big +1.

There is a sandwich shop down the street that still cooks their fries in shorting. An order of them and some mayo and ketchup is quite tasty.

Yup.  Wouldn't want sugared tomato vinegar paste again.

"Yes I do eat that much mayonez, because it taste amazing."
