And wanted to say goodbye before disappearing for seven days. I will miss my online family . . .
Last year I drove a 52 Ford convertible with an Isuzu diesel conversion. I wonder what I can finagle a drive in this time?

what are the laws for going to Cuba again? I have heard it can be a wonderful place with friendly people. As it is only 90 miles from Key West (24 hours sail with the right winds) I have been tempted to make that passage when I go down there next winter
Have fun Rob. I love Cuba. I think I've been 8 times now. The beaches are some of the best I've seen.

Not sure what the laws are for US citizens. It is straightforward for us Canucks. Cubans are remarkable and I am excited to return. I felt that people's needs are met with strong health care and education, and no one seemed destitute. There is no doubt they have unfulfilled wants. But then, so do I.
Incredible music. Mediocre food. Phenomenal beaches.
I met tons of car enthusiasts. Lots of pride of ownership, and the GRM spirit is a necessity to keep their cars on the road.

You should hand out a few GRM bumper stickers.
My uncle (citizen of The Great White North) died there last year. Flew down for vacation. Died. They cremated him and shipped him back to Canada in a cigar box. I E36 M3 you not. A berkeleying cigar box.
Have phun.
Speaking of cigars!! I am going soon.. A friend of mine recommended watching a boxing match. But only the boxing matches where the boxers smoke cigars while boxing.. Not the fake boxing matches where they smoke cigars between rounds...

That's awesome. I wonder if you can request that? My wife and I are heading down in a few weeks. If I die there I want them to ship me home in a cigar box or a rum bottle. I'm a bit on the husky side so they may have to use a cask.
I thought it was kinda cool, in a totally twisted humor way. 60 years of commie rule has left their economy with not much, so why not reuse a perfectly good cigar box? They needed a box, and there's a box. It's not like he cares anymore.
For a US citizen, go via Mexico. In Mexico you get an extra page put in your passport for Mexico to Cuba then back. Remove the page before returning to the US. Not legal but doable.
We were able to go over Christmas last year because the wife still has some living relatives down there, was a really amazing, eye opening experience. Really wish it was easier to go though.
