So I just found out that after deployment in going to be stationed in Germany, baumholder to be exact.

So what do you guys think I'm thinking

what would be your 25 year old European only car of choice. Under 10k dollars is the only rule.

If it's over 25 years old, it should be possible to have it follow him home.

There should be reasonable choice, the really cheap stuff was last seen disappearing eastbound but some nice classic cars are still available.

For a do-everything car something like an E28 M5 is hard to beat. Not sure if it'll be in your price range though.

To drive while there, or to bring home?

I'm not sure I'd have the same answer for both.

To bring home, early BMW or Type 34 Karmann Ghia.

Really was there any real good built before 1985? Ford Sierra RS? Sierra Cosworth? Stay enlisted and in the service for 10 more years and bring home a 1995 ish car.

Yeah but who know's if I'm going to be in Germany in 10 years. This would be to drive while there, and to follow me home hence the 25 year old thing.

I kind of want a cosworth 190 Mercedes, I wonder how far the ring is from Baumholder, 84km

Caterham Seven

Are you going back to the hot zone first? How long will you be there before Germany?

You should have a package waiting on you when you get back!

I think it would be great to be stationed in Germany. You can hit the 'ring anytime you want!

You'll find better Opel GTs in the US - a lot of them got imported back into Germany as the German ones had long dissolved into rust.

Yeah and Opel GTs don't really do it for me. Early escorts are an awesome idea.
