Trapster could be nice but I'd still never get a car with OnStar (or MS Sync).
What happens when someone sees the kid and swerves to the right or left, and THEN hits someone...didn't they think about that, or did they get too caught up in the 3-D-hologramish-wow-factor.

Brilliant. Let's desensitize the vast majority of the idiots on the road to the idea of a kid in the road. The first time they see the image it will likely (a) frighten and (b) piss them off. The second time they see a kid in the road they'll think it's just one of those dumb signs berkeleying with them and won't slow down, right until they hit the real kid who is there. 
Very dumb plan. I don't predict it will last long.

Absolutely moronic. It works the first time, then drivers learn to ignore the sight of a child in the road.

Lots & lots of rear-end accidents from those wonderful sudden panic stops, and as RedT2 said, its the "boy who cried wolf" scenario as well...
It is ALWAYS a good idea to startle and surprise the operator of a multi ton machine for no reason.
