I remember seeing that as a rerun. I have also watched turkeys fly. They fly like chickens (not very far) and can land in treetops and on roofs.
A bunch of turkeys flew into my yard when I was trying to mow last week. They don’t fly very well, but they do fly. And they make an awful lot of noise while they’re doing it.

I was a junior in high school and had just started to spread my wings....

Those are wild turkeys,...domestic turkeys are bred to be so massive that they'll pretty much drop like a rock.

It wasn't THAT long ago!
(born in 78)
I remember it. I was 8. After my bedtime. I’m laying in bed in my room and I hear my father just howling from down the hall. Literally screaming in a way I’d never heard him laugh before.
There were a couple others episodes of Taxi that produced the same result. He’s near 80 now and I haven’t heard that laugh since.
Saw them all on TV, I am slightly old. Also, being from Cincinnati made it even more funny. Went into the Navy in '85 and when people learned where I was from they always asked "is WKRP a real station?"
I don't remember my father watching a lot of WKRP, but I remember that episode making him howl with laughter.
Gotta love the show that put my hometown Cincinnati on the map.... Watched a lot of reruns but don;t remember this one. Sadly I was 1 so will have to youtube it.
I think the FCC laid it down on Bubba the Love Sponge for a similar stunt... I had never heard of this episode, so minus points to BTLS for not coming up with the idea.

I'm jealous. One of my earliest TV memories was some officer forcibly removing Hawkeye's arms, and then he sat in a rowboat in a sea of arms and came ashore to some operation, but he couldn't do anything because the Army took his arms away.
I hid behind the couch

When my grandmother's health was failing in her early 90s, she happened upon Airplane! on one of the movie channels. I hadn't heard her laugh so hard in a very long time.
