Just got an invite and I don't know if I should jump. I have an Iphone4 with ulimited data from Verizon. If I got One+One I'd have to switch carriers, but I could potentially save money per month by using someone like straight talk..
What you guys say?
The Iphone4 has IOS7 on it and is slow, but works.

How much data do you use? A grandfathered unlimited data plan is pretty valuable, if you are a data-heavy user.
Well, Verizon recently announced serverethrottling above 2gb? on unlimited plans.
I say drop the outdated Iphone and experience the highly customizable android based phone.
I was a heavy user, but not so much any more. We use 2GB a month between me and my wife.. Usually less.
I am not unhappy with verizon service, just the price is silly.

ugh, I go through 2gb on a good...day so that'd be bad for me. Tmo took my old grandfather plan away a loooooong time ago. Held onto it until they basically dropped blackberry and wouldn't let me use it on Android. They HATED that plan.

You may also be able to negotiate with Verizon.. I'm a long time VZW customer, and I got my price down for our plan from an unlimited data + dumb phone plan to the 1Gb, unlimited talk + a dumb phone for within about $5 of what I was looking at jumping to with some of the pay-as-you-need carriers. It brought my bill down from something like $115/mo to ~$75/mo. And it's still VZW, so I can get great international support for the two or three times per year I travel around the world, which was a big concern of mine switching to some of the other ones.
Just something to look at.
edit: I should add that the reason I got down to $75 is because my wife doesn't have a phone under contract, and they give you $5/mo off. They're obviously feeling the heat from the other guys..

Before I lost my vzw unlimited plan, I had a month straight of streaming iHeartRadio........they didn't throttle me, even though I exceeded 56GB data usage.....
Now I'm stuck with 6GB to myself.....I nearly run over every month with liberal wifi usage.
Sprint doesn't throttle, but it's hard to tell because their network is a gigantic piece of E36 M3 to begin with.

Netflix is a motherberkeleyer
I don't think I've ever used more than 1.2GB in an entire month. between using wifi EVERYWHERE and not using much besides I doubt I'll ever go over my 2GB plan
what do you do with your phone that uses so much data?... granted i'm @ over 200gb this month on my home network... but lots and lots of netflix/hulu and downloading a few games will do that lol... but I had a 5gb plan at one point and the only way I was able to finish it up in the last week was by torrenting
add that tmobile doesn't hold certain radio apps against your data these days (pandora, itunes, iheartradio, rhapsody, spotify and some others)
anyway... for the phone... I'd jump on it and if you don't like it just sell it... they aren't easy to get so should be fairly easy to sell... just get the black one... no SD slot = suck :(
I'm starting to back off now that I know the phone has no SD slot. However, preliminary reports from coworkers say it is a 2 day phone with moderate to heavy use.. Big Battery.
FWIW. Next time you upgrade your phone with Verizon you will lose your unlimited data plan. You're only grandfathered as long as you keep the current phone.
Unless you have some sort of double secret deal that the rest of us dont.
I hit my 2GB cap for the first time last month. I use the GPS all the frickin time in the work truck. But my data usage suggest that I spend too much time on Face Space.

yeah we know, but I don't think I care anymore about the unlimted data.. I just want to save money. Based on the calculators I have seen, I'd save $5 and get less data. Not a big win.

I work overnights. I have a lot of downtime and no wifi. I use netflix.... it adds up FAST.

I just upgraded to an S5 in May and lost my unlimited plan. I was grandfathered into it a long time ago. When the VZW agent built my new plan, he tried to give me 6Gb of data. I asked him to look at my usage over the past month. It was a paltry 0.3Gb LOL. I had them give me the 2Gb data plan since I'm on my wifi 98% of the time.
That OnePlus One Phone is pretty legit. How come I haven't heard of this before?

ok gotcha :)... yes streaming video eats data... which is why I avoid it on my phone I guess haha

if you get the black one it's a 64gb phone... I'd rather an SD card but for the price...
so... i can't use the invites in time.. No $$$$
Send me PM and I will try to get you one.. Must use it within 24 hours.
