send the driver bits w/ it JIC
Damn Henry Ford. Mr Robertson wouldn't sell his patent, so Hank bought up Mr Phillips instead.
Or sumthin like that...

place the driver bit (only) in the shipping envelope on the outside of crate.
drywall screws are fine, I used 'em a bunch on crates
The drivers are easy to get. Shouldn't be a worry. Most kits do include them.
I make it a point to only buy Robertson screws

....I didn't know that I could respect you more than watching your vids and coverage of the Targa.
You prove me wrong sir.
If I have the bits for them, I'm sure a place that rebuilds transmissions will. I wouldn't worry about it.

Its funny to me... all the bit kits I've purchased over the years have three or four square drive bits in them. Always made me wonder why since Americans almost never use them.
The special robertson screws that I bought for my hardi-backer panels were advertised as having the bit included. My thought was, "why? I have 30 of them in my toolbox that I never used."
hey i am canadian and robertson screws have no place on a car nothing i hate more than seeing them, they are the best thing for wood but just dont look rite on a car
ps there are a few things i hate more
I had to remove one from a Mopar DOHC, must have been metric as I could not find a robertson drive that fit; I ended up grinding down an 1/4" socket adaptor until it fit.
I like the 3/8" sized, so I can use my socket wrench.
I don't use the Robertsons much, Didn't even know you could buy the screws really. But I have come across them and I happened to have the bit to remove them. It didn't slip, I can see why some of you prefer them, even over a phillips head.
IMO anyone still using a flathead screw for anything anymore should be sacked.
I didn't know the proper name of "roberstons", But I love square drives. Bits last forever (Have yet to strip one)
Put me in the Robertson support camp even though I am a bloody American. If I EVER meet that Phillips guy I may have to be physically restrained.
Posidrivs are right behind Phillips.
Square drive bits last forever, the screws will stay on the bit while you get into position, won't jump off when you drive it in. Phillips bits don't last through an afternoon. Screws fall off. Pain in the ass.Robertson for the win.

Phillips were meant to "lift" at a certain torque. They were designed for large machinery that put screws into things.. when the proper torque was achieve, the driver would lift out of the screw on it's own due to the shape of the screw and driver.
