Figured I'd see if there are any other fountain pen fans here on the forum, and if you have ink recommendations.
My usual is a Lamy Safari with Lamy branded cartridge ink. I also have a couple Kawaco Sports, and a Lamy Joy for calligraphy stuff. I have a converter for each of my pens for bottled ink, but I don't have any that I totally love.
I have some Diamine inks that are fine, but they seem to smear a bit even after drying.
Hey! I have three fountain pens on my desk right now.
Ink-wise, I prefer Waterman. Not doing calligraphy or anything fancy, I just like a medium nib; most of my pens now are Waterman or Monteverde because they use the Waterman-style cartridges and I can't be fussed to use an inkwell. Waterman's Mysterious Blue (a dark blue/black) is my preference.
I have a few fountain pens, and I always love using them.
Sadly, I don't get to use them very often because 90% of my "writing" is done on a computer.
How're Monteverde's inks with smearing? They have a ton of fun duochrome stuff, but I always worry it won't be worth the hassle.
I've not tried the duochrome inks. The basic cartridge inks they provide seems fine but I am a 20+-year user of Waterman inks and keep buying them.

I have a few others, but the go-to is a vintage Pelikan M200 (marked "Made in West Germany") with a fine nib, and generally Pelikan 4001 ink, usually blue-black. Unfortunately, I don't do a lot of handwriting these days.
Last time I used a fountain pen was when I was in school back in the 80's. Really liked writing with it, but could never get away from ink on my fingers. Tried to use a pen I found at home, but the pump never worked to draw in ink. But colleges had good value pens and ink.
Wish that was more useful, but I appreciate remembering using it.

That's gorgeous! I've always loved dotwork.

I wish I had your patience. I tried dot work once and almost went insane.
