For a couple years now, I've been carrying a pen light I got from my old Snap-On dealer. It has proven invaluable, although it's not without its flaws. Primarily, though, it was bright and small enough that I'd always carry it. Now that it has all but given up the ghost, I'm looking for another one, and finding most that are commonly available are pretty junky.
Anybody carrying a reasonably tough pen light that they'd recommend?

Need smaller, get a 4Sevens Preon II

The Quark MiNi 2AA is on my gift list this year.

Nice. The Preon 2 is very similar to what I've been carrying. Hopefully Santa will drop one in my stocking this year.
I have carried an arc-aaa p, until I lost it! you would be amazed at the output for only 1 aaa. yes, 1. and it's built for what it is. They're even cranking out a titanium version now. The next one will be kept on the end of a chain attached to my belt.
I happen to like my "junky" $4 Rayovac penlight.
ive been carrying a Streamlight Stylus Pro for a few years. its pretty powerful, uses 2 AAA batteries, and the button on the back is both a click on/off type or a momentary on when halfway pressed.
Came in here to drop the 4Sevens name. I see I was beaten to it.
I have a 10% discount for 4Sevens if you're buying already. Send me a message, I'm not going to post it up. Candlepower Forum doesn't have that big of a discount.
I keep the Harbor Freight LED freebies scattered around the house, vehicles, and office.

^^ That's my problem - I have a few cheapos scattered about, but because I'm so used to having the good one in my pocket, I never pay attention to where I put the disposable ones. So now when I need a light, I have to stop and look for one for five minutes. Maddening.
I like the HF freebies for geocaching. I've left 3 or 4 of them for trades. Probably the best item you could ever trade with because they're free for you and useful to the person that trades for it.
Ditto on the Streamlight Stylus and the HF freebie. I don't know what I would do without either of them.

Just a heads up on the 4Sevens lights. The Preon and the Quark MiNi lights are twisties, not clickies. The regular Quark and the Tactical Quark are both tail clickies.

Good call. Clicky tailcaps available as accessory. That woulda bummed me out.
Streamlite Stylus and 4Seven Quarks are both recommended by Nutnfancy on Youtube as well. He may be a little nuts, but he isn't all wrong, either.
The MiNi is still a twistie, and there is no tail cap swap available for the Preon.
Twisty is better for me, because I have a really bad habit of turning clicky lights on in my pocket.
I've carried the 2-AA size mini-maglites forever and wanted something with more lumens that was indestructible. I threw down last year and got one of
THESE!
It's spendy, yes - but a 12 pack of batteries from Amazon for $20 will keep me bright forever.
True story - I was installing a new 02 sensor on my '01 V6 Tacoma. It's flanged onto the top of the downpipe and not terribly easy to see. This flashlight is so freakin' bright that the shadow cast by the sensor, studs, nuts and wrench were projected so sharply on the inside of the trans tunnel I worked from shadows.
Every time I use it - which is all the time - I wish I'd bought it sooner.

In reply to Derick Freese:
Oh, it actually looks like the Preon 2 is clicky from stock.

Yeah, my buddy got me a SureFire for Xmas last year (guys give each other the best presents!), and I actually found it too bright for a lot of the work I was doing. Good problem to have.
Love that thing. Wish I hadn't lost it...

Used one of these for the last couple of years professionally. Great light.
Ahh, ok, the Preon II is a combo light. Looks to be a really advanced programmable interface.
Programmable flashlights, heh.
Hmm, maybe not. I've never had my grubby mitts on a Preon, but the Quark MiNi is sweet.
