I once banned the entire continent of Australia because of one shiny happy person. When I woke up sober the next day I removed the ban.

Ok, I can't beat an entire continent.

I’m just copying them from another GRM thread. I’ve been accused of being harsh, so I’m just moving the bullseye to someone else.
What page?
I like Frenchie. He is passionate about his favorite cars and he knows them inside out. And I respect that. And he is much mellower these days so it would be nice if those with a grudge could just drop it.

That meme isn't accurate. I don't see a V12 anywhere in there.
Or the stock market.
The first thing I do when I sign up for a BBcode forum is turn off all the avatars and signature flair, then find the 'ignore user' button if it's there.

There's times where I feel like that guy here...

It happens. All you gotta be happy with is you being you. Seeking approval from a bunch of 1s and 0s is not really what life is about.
The whole treat others as you’d want to be treated yourself thing seems to be adhered to here more than most other forums I visit. That’s kind of a good thing in my book.
Hell, that's half of Miata.net. There is a wealth of knowledge on that forum, but quite a few railroad the replies. There are only a few "acceptable" paths to take in modification, the loudmouths crush anything outside the norm.
I don't bother with it anymore.

We have a "topper" on the local vintage bike forum who's been everywhere and done everything bigger, better and faster than anyone else but he never seems to provide any evidence.
One day he was bragging up his old drag race Harley Sportster and actually posted a picture of it at the local strip, squaring up against an old, stretched out KZ1000 drag bike.
One of our other members mentioned that the O/P's memory must be getting a bit fuzzy because that was him on the Kawi next to the HD except he was able to show his version of the same picture and a picture of the timeslip. Apparently that was his fastest run ever on the Kawi.
O/P has been much more calm since that day.
You ever comment on a thread, and then no one else comments on it, and you see that thread, every day, lurking on your "posts I commented on" page, without anymore comments? And you start to wonder, why did no one else comment after I did? Do they all hate me? Am I tainted? Do I bring nothing to the table? Are they all ignoring me? Did they all go somewhere for beers, and intentionally not invite me? Or worse, did they all go somewhere for beers, and just forget to invite me?
I don't get dissing on Frenchy, he's passionate but has a lot of knowledge that he can bring up too. I guess one of the reasons I'm OK with him is I'm closer to him politically than many people. I don't recall his previous ID when he was banned though, and I've been here since the late 90's which was at least two completely forum reboots ago.

THX, I'd just figured that out from one of the memes. His account seems to have been totally nuked, no posts appear to still exist at all. He wasn't the guy that got banned for making inappropriate remarks about the younger woman who used to have a 323 GTX that went to the challenge was he?
You know one of the reasons I think I tend not to get too bent out of shape about online personas is that I have a terrible memory for names and faces anyway, even in real life. It's something that I really work on and now at 50 I am actually making some gains, but add the anonymity of the internet, random or changing avatars and screen names that have little association with an actual person and I get confused easily.

I always wonder if anyone cares anymore when I post, since I am no longer in the garage every night, then I see my name in the signature line and it's all good.

For those (like me) that have .sig files turned off, here it is for reference:

Of course we care. And that's still the most accurate description of this forum I've seen. Spot on!

Yup, I definitely feel like that sometimes. Even going back to the early 2000s I suspected I was a thread-killer on the forums I went to back then.
