Some of you may know (and some may not) that a new motorsports themed venue is being developed in Columbus, Ohio with an opening projected for spring 2014. It's called the Sports Pavilion and Automotive Research Complex or SPARC. Here is a link to the project web site: http://www.sparcohio.com/
This facility is much more than a simple half mile roundy-round track. The entire infield will be asphalt or concrete and the developer has gained a city code variance(s) that allows them to turn an 11 acre or so parking lot into a driving range free of curbs, light poles, etc. Basically it will have two decent sized driving ranges, one inside the track area and one outside. There will be a lot of performance driving and vehicle testing capabilities at this site.
With that in mind, a group of local enthusiasts and business owners have been working to develop a specialty performance suspension and chassis tuning center to be located at SPARC. Our center, to be called the Performance Control Center, will primarily focus on the sales, installation and service of under body components (suspension, brakes, chassis, wheels, tires, specialty alignments, corner weighting, etc) to not only improve the mechanical capability of your car, but also to best match your driving techniques/skills to the mechanical set up so the maximum potential of driver and car can be realized. An important factor will be the ability to test set-ups on site. Our customers will be able to take their vehicle onto a closed, repeatable test course to evaluate modifications, make changes, and repeat as needed. Driver coaching will be available as well.
Construction is to start soon but SPARC isn't open yet. In the meantime we're wanting to take the opportunity to ask questions to learn what is most important to you when it comes to modifying the suspension and/or chassis of your vehicle (be it a car, truck, SUV). Even if you're not close enough to take advantage of the services we feel that feedback from the motorsports community is critical to selecting the best types of products and developing services that enthusiasts want and need. To that end we've set up a web based survey that asks 20 questions (it's actually two surveys of 10 questions each) which only takes a few moments to complete. To help entice people to participate we'll be giving away a set of four tires to one randomly chosen participant for EACH survey part completed. The tires are your choice, value up to $500/per set, or if you're overloaded with tires we will give the two winners $500 each on a Visa gift card. The winners will be selected from a random draw of survey participants in early November, the drawing will take place live on a local radio show (AutoSmarts) If you want to know more or take the survey, please visit www.pccsurvey.com.
Comments, suggestions, ideas all welcome.
