I'm working on some branding ideas for work and need this image modified. What I need is just the 89, without the background. My goal is to be able to overlay the 89 onto other items to test look and placement. Is that something someone can handle for me? I could send a high-res file via email.

I'd appreciate the help!

What you need is a software that will allow layers with no background.   Photoshop or GIMP freeware have this but aren't "Basic" software to use.   Basic image editors tend to just allow pixel manipulation which makes "clear" items like what you want the "89" to be difficult.

Do you have a windows machine?

If so load the picture in Paint3D.   Use the "Magic Select" icon.  Just click next after you select the tool, Because of the color difference it will automatically select the pink 89.  Hit done.  Now you have a sticker that is just 89.

If you open another Paint3D window you can copy/paste the sticker without a background.  You can position it, resize it using typical windows grab handles.

If you just open the other images in Paint you can double click on the sticker and copy/paste it and it will paste into Paint without a background.

The nice thing about using Paint3D is it will let you reposition the 89 since it is just a layer.

I'm sure Mac has a similar easy to use software.

Under Canvas, make sure it has "transparent background" checked, and make sure when you save the file to use an image format that supports transparency. I believe JPG does not support transparent backgrounds, PNG or GIF do.

In reply to dyintorace :

Ok I downloaded your image and tried it.  I had to shrink the "magic select" box to be just around the "89".  It selected the "8" Then I clicked next and had to use the "add" pencil button and click in the "9" and it outlined the "89".

I then copied the sticker onto another image.
