When I hit Upload from:My Computer it doesn't show the green Upload Now button. I do get an upload button if I choose Web, for instance. Any advice?

And why are you so close to his gibbley bits?
photobucket isnt so hotlink friendly. Ive been on imageshack.us for years. they have a 500 image limit they just implemented though, for free accounts.
I solved that by cleaning out a number of images from my old account to get right under 500, and setting up a second one from a different email for future image hosting purposes.
Flickr sucks donkey goat nuggets. It defaults the pictures to a resolution that was obsolete in 1993, then when you want to the full size ones you have to click through about eight pages and load a java applet. Plus, if you're cruising Google Image Search and you run into a pic on Flickr that isn't there anymore, it hijacks your whole browser session and dumps you on its main page, borking your back button in the process.
The only reason it has any popularity at all is because hipster phot~ahgraphers can ban the plebs from right-click-save-as-ing their precious black & white masterpiece of a rusty kid's bike leaning on a concrete wall.
Photobucket sucks too, but not nearly in ways that irritating (aside from them selling your email address to Fox. That's really irritating.)
Like Jay said, flickr's resolution does suck, but I find it easy to upload, etc...
Example: I copied a pic from the Cyborg Richard Petty thread, photochopped it, uploaded to flickr and had it posted in the same thread in something like 20 min. Real easy.
I DO however, store all my personal pics in raw format.
Haven't tried Imageshack. That might be worth looking into.

Your own website with a basic web gallery package installed to prevent people stealing your photos. Uploads are simple via FTP and usually unlimited in size and quantity. You can also allow friends and family to upload photos on their own. (which reminds me, I should do that for our Wedding website as one of our relatives shared their photos with us via Costco PhotoCenter which is a black hole where your photos never come back from, sigh)
I find Picasa works pretty well, but that is another free service that may change and cause issues down the road (though Google isn't as bad as some others I find).
Maybe the answer is in my computer. I destroyed my pc and was given a laptop by my cousin. What a great guy. Since using the laptop the the green button for going to My Pictures won't work. It was fine on my pc.

So, I tried to download pics to laptop. It said it was downloading software from the camera but nothing else popped up to say pics are downloaded. Are they downloaded and where are they?
