April fools day. The kids love it. I can't stand it. The got their hands on googley eyes somehow.
The phone does a lousy job, but besides just messing with the big telescope like I showed earlier, we actually use it for space things. I repeat that this telescope is not set up for photography, we just sort of held the phone near the eyepiece and guessed. The moon is amazing!!!!
This is how I make good coffee at work. In my favorite cup ever, no less. Manual burr grinder, eh? What if we tried more power?
.
I taught a class at church for 4-5 year olds. This one makes me pretty sad because we have not done it in a while. Usually I ask one kid to come write on the board for attendance, but this time they all wanted to. Sure, why not? Plus a prayer list to boot. BTW Teegan had cancer, and the kid is completely cured. Doctors are baffled. I'm not.
Edit: Tearing up a little at this one
Every year our kids enter a cardboard boat race. This was a great one. You can see TunaDad in one of these, making a rare appearance. Tunakid #3 wanted to be the USS Monitor. He loves that ship (as do I!)
On our flu-ridden, spaceship launch not-having trip to Florida, we got to see Daytona 500 practice. Neat!
Our Trail Life group didn't know what Operation Christmas Child was. This was the first year, and I was privileged to organize it.
This is how you make a lousy situation (seeing a specialty doctor in another state, in this case Tennessee) a fun time.
This is another tear jerker. I maybe shouldn't share other people, but this was a courthouse. Friends, newly members at our church, had finally been able to adopt two kids that were long term foster kids in their home. One of the kids turned around to see this during the proceeding and said something like "Wow Mom, they really love us!". This was a fraction of the total, basically the entire church came other than people who had to be at work.
