Well it's been over a year and the world isn't a better place yet. I'll try to catch you up.
Dine on Trade (In Greer) was safe-er outdoor dining.
Every year these kids get their picture taken on this bronze green sea turtle statue at the squarium on Manteo. It was removed for the pandemic in 2020 (It's back now) but this was a gem:
One more and then I go back to work.
We visited Williamsburg. I was there when I was a kid. The kids find it neat, we learn some history, blah blah. Normal cool stuff. Then I see the firearms setup, and I walk over. It's a real deal. They actually operate it as a shop. They build rifles built with period correct materials, tools and techniques. They even make the fasteners. You can buy them. I mean, a multi-year waiting list, and tens of tousands of dollars, but you can buy one made there.
Old news now, but Tunakid 1 helps prepare the temporary seat bracket while Tunakid 4 plays with the steering wheel.
... and bikes
Fun story, tunadaughter and I went riding down the beach. She's quite strong for her age and weight. She wanted to keep up a decent pace, and we passed a bunch of adults. These adults were on Ebikes. Then they watched an eight year old pass them on an adult bike in the sand, and caught up to us and made fun of themselves and clocked her with their speedometers. Apparently she was going like 15 mph.
