Any suggestions?

Is he at TACOM or BAE? Sterling Height's doesn't have much other than chain's.

Filipppa's on the NW corner of Mound Rd and M-59 is pretty good. Slightly north of that also on the west side of Mound Rd is Art & Jake's and slightly further north still is Tokyo Sushi. All three are good and have been around for years. Papa Vino's on Van Dyke N of 14 Mile is a local Italian chain that is pretty good. Chain restaurant's galore on M-59 east of M-53 for a few miles (both N and S sides).

If he wants to head over to Troy there are a lot of options on 16 Mile Rd/Big Beaver including Granite City, Maggiano's, Benihana's, PF Chang's as well as Capital Grille, Ruth's Chris, Morton's, McCormick & Schmick, Ocean Prime, and Eddie Merlot's. Downtown Rochester has Rochester Mills Brewery and Restaurant, Kruse & Muer's, and Rochester Chop House as well as others.

If he's a car guy, Woodward Avenue cruisers are out and about already on weekends and nice nights.

Well he was only there through the weekend last weekend, but thanks for the suggestions anyway. They ended up at some pub.
