these bags, rootbeer can for scale, but I'm sure you've all seen them at Lowe's Depot.

Every year I wind up with 150-200 of these bags. What can I do with them that isn't just throwing them out?

I don't know how to find exactly what kind of plastic it is, but if I could turn it to printer filament somehow that would be awesome.

I use them for padding in shipping, but that usually makes the receiver a bit dusty. I've used them in the past to plastic over windows, they're a bit heavier than a lot of kits, but I use 10mil for that now. Use them as trash bags when cleaning and in the garage. Sleds in the snow, before I had a concrete driveway they were good to tape together for working under cars.

There's just so many bags.

It's likely a polyethylene film.  Most grocery stores will have containers for the collection and recycling of bags, but you'd likely fill it up with a few dozen of those.
