Woody, if you can't find what you like, then brew your own. It's fun but a lot of work. Try it, see if you like what you brewed, and if you do, you don't have to buy anything else anymore. You're the King!

I've always been a fan of Fat Tire Amber Ale. It shouldn't be too hard to track down. I've thought its always been consistent taste wise.

See if you can find Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar, it's a great brown.

Also, IPAs are terrible. My wife, who got me into beer even though she's now gluten intolerant, describes IPAs as " what people who hate beer think beer should taste like: bitter and you endure the taste even though you hate it" it's fairly accurate.

I like stouts and porters, and the occasional Belgian and lager. This means that every craft beer bar that says they have 120 beers to try.....has 5 that I'd actually drink. These beers have flavor instead of trying to ram as much putrid bitterness into a glass, unlike IPAs

I picked up some Brooklyn Brown today, as well as a four pack of Dogfish Head Brown Ale.

I'm fairly certain that I've had Brooklyn Brown before, though I don't really remember if I liked it or not. Not sure about the Dogfish Head. I usually avoid their stuff because I don't need my beer to have an ignitable level of alcohol in it.

I will report back when I have more info.

Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout is one of my favorite beers of all time, although at a well-hidden 10% ABV, it's not one to be taken lightly.  I think I've had their brown ale, but I don't remember it.

I am leery of anything from Dogfish Head without getting a tasting first.  The brewers there seem to think everything should be a variant of an IPA.

I tried the DogFish Head Brown Ale today, but it's not really what I'm looking for. At 12% ABVs, it has more of a brandy or congac vibe to me.sad

Dogfish Head Brown Ale will catch up to you after a few. Avery Ellies Brown Ale has been good anytime I've had it.

I know it's not a brown ale in the traditional sense but have you tried any bocks? Shined Bock is a good example. My personal favorite is Gennesee Bock (some might laugh but its good for a brew that is $8-9 for a 12 pk)...

Back from the dead.  NMNA, support your local business.

It was my first time a Fox Farm, pretty far away from your neck of the woods, but pretty tasty!  Ordered online, a dude in a mask thru the goods in me trunk and bid me farewell.

I also noticed that Newcastle had seemed to change for the worse…I suspected it was just me but now it appears the change was real.

Anyway, what’s all the hate on IPA’s.

Hops are your friend, they work tirelessly to offset the sweetness of the malt along with providing spiciness and aroma.

Beer’s that wimp out on hops are the zinfandels of wines…wishy-washy little cowards that really don’t have any values or principles, pretty much just going along to get along.

I, for one, would much prefer to be offended than bored; Prove me wrong.cheeky

Southern Prohibition Brewing.....'crowd control' ......IPA and my latest favorite

'FEAR MOVIE LIONS' unfiltered Double IPA from STONE.....Y'all step yur game up !!!!
