Interesting side note about getting Poison Ivy off your skin. This guy said that it is oils from the plants that gets on you, and as long as you get it off quickly, you will never suffer any ill effects. The trouble is that it is invisible and most people do not scrub enough to get the job done. He said the process is the same as removing axle grease from your hands, it's THAT tenacious. Friction is more important than soap. Check it out, seems to make sense:

I wash with Tecnu any time I have been in woods with PI.

My dad is pretty allergic; the only thing he has found that helps is scalding hot water. Which would kind of make sense--it would make the oil rise off his skin and just rinse away.

I've heard that Urushiol is alcohol soluble but resistant to water. Using alcohol and soap might work best. I may have to google that later.

I think one of the ingredients in tecnu is naphthalene.

I have had good results clearing up poison ivy on my skin washing with isopropyl alcohol.
