So Xfiniti sent us an "upgraded" cable box. Great! Plug it in, set it up, and it works as expected....for about 2 hours. Then it says, error, need to reboot. We reboot, and it gets stuck in the boot loop. Pull power, check connections, etc. nothing works. Go online for support only to get stuck in a chat bot loop of no help. On a whim I tried something.
Here's the tip. In the search help type "contact a human". The bot asked if I wanted to talk with an agent. Of course I did. And I finally got somewhere. Sort of, but that's for another rant. At least I now have a technician being scheduled to fix the issue.
In reply to PMRacing :
I want to say so much but can't. Sorry. What error? Did you use the same power supply? Hopefully you get a good tech. Xfinity techs are way better than their customer care centers. I might be biased. Honestly if you have a Xfinity store nearby I'd try swapping the box again. Make sure you get a receipt for the old box that you turn in.
Comcast is the worst. After three failures of internet and now my phone at the office with supposed guarantee that I get service back in one hour (because it is a business and I pay for that guarantee). I have tried to get a hold of the and get stuck in either a telephone loop or an on line loop. The closest I got to them actually doing somthing about fixing there set is was a robot resetting my router and then they disconnected me
1. I had just reset it myself.
2. it was going to take another half hour of stupid on hold in phone hell talking to robots that really don't want to help and instead try to up sell you more services
So Verizon is coming in tomorrow to install there services. I am getting 2x the download speed and 10x the upload speed at $70 less per month and no phone or internet crap when I need servic. I get a direct line to a human and the one hour guarantee.
Comcast it was not you it was me. I want internet and phones that actually work and to be able to contact a company when the don't and get it fixed.
Comcast you can kiss my shiny happy backside good by.
No hard feelings Comcast .... ... .. I hope.
